Southern Lab picks alum, ex-Jackson State QB Darrell Asberry as its head football coach





First congrats to the Coach. It is a blessing to have one of your own as head coach especially a black coach who has been on the college level to help motivate young black males!!!! I commend Southern Lab for their choice.

The LHSAA seems to be a bit tougher on the Black select schools as well as the black charter schools. We had to provide a birth certificate and prove that my wife was the custodial parent for my son to play football. It was a bit racist if you ask me especially when the LHSAA official made the statement "we may have to visit the home."

I was actually stunned and taken back. Now more to the reason I felt it was racist was because the white football coach in Haynesville wanted him to stay and play for them. So this racist prick who I have publicly stated to his face that I am not fond of him goes to my wife's grandmother trying to get her to push to keep him in Haynesville. I made a personal visit to the football coach at school with the principal in the room and had some choice words. Unknowingly to the coach the principal grew up on the same country road with my mother and our families go way back.

That prick was red as hell when he left out.

What's even worse every time I would go to a football game there I would wear some GSU stuff. This prick coach would always send his players to a white school. The coaching staff is 99% white but the team is 99% black. This past season Fobbs recruited an offensive lineman and red shirted him. When this happened about 6 of the seniors enrolled at GSU and plan on trying out in the Spring. The prick coach in Haynesville stopped calling all of them when he found this out. SMH...

Sorry of the rant...but I hate racist coaches and the racist antics of the LHSAA.

Nah it's not a problem. The problem is there are not enough fathers like me....see these white coaches expect a mother to come mouthing off but when dad shows up in a suit and tie the white racist coaches have no idea of how to approach the situation.

The principal and I had a good laugh about it at my wedding reception.

I'm happy for him, every man need a means to provide for his loved ones. Although, I still believe he is an azz hat and know for a fact he intentionally worked against TSU football. I also know why he did what he did and why TSU's administration allowed him to finish his contract. He was a petty, trifling, selfish, unprofessional, person and coach at TSU. I hope he gets his way with these administrators , if he does he will probably do a fine job. I don't think the the sorry bastid should be out of work unable to provide for his family. I just wanted him the hell away from TSU.

When he was fully aware he would not be offered an extension on his contract he openly out of his own mouth said he would not put any extra effort into building a program for another coach to show up and blow up with. Which is Bull Spit, I believe he quit after his second season but every one of his paychecks cleared to two additional seasons. I truly believe he threw some games. His 4th quarter game management was just ignant...If their was a way to loose a lead he found it.

See that's the thing, he is a pretty good coach, but when he knew for sure he would not be retained beyond his initial contract he decided to give TSU the finger and he quit. I can't stand quitters, if you going to quit then quit and leave. But he decided to stay and keep cashing the checks of the best paying job he ever had in his whole life and give TSU the finger at the same time. I'm done with this topic....
