So the SWAC is going to instant replay next year?

I think the SWAC mandated that all schools have it within the next 2 years.

Not sure of any mandate but I do remember seeig w interview that Duer gave and he said the conference will be providing all the schools with the software to utilize it for next season. i don't think it will be equal at all schools because everyone will not have the same number of camera angles to make it the same at every game. Just like the basketball games with their reviews, some schools have only 1 camera angle and some have 3-4 angles.

Which schools don't have the space? Valley is the only one I could think of that might not.

The show nuff don't have no space in their box.

You mean to tell me even after the upgrade they are still dealing with that matchbox size press booth?

I heard the conference wanted and arm and a leg to provide a replay official.

In my opinion a replay official does not need to be near the field...just have access to replay by what ever means. I think it would be preferable for the replay official not to be near the field of play so he/she will not be influenced by what they see on the field.

That's a new one to me. I thought they all were in the booth upstairs

Just selling it like I bought it.

I still think the replay official should be away from the booth and the field of play. He/she is suppose to provide an unbiased/uninfluenced determination of the play on the field.

The replay official is in an area of his/her own in the pressbox. How is that biased?

The replay official has to see the field. He is reviewing everything that happens on the field. He has to notify the game officials to stop play for a review. You might be thinking of the NFL rules where most reviews are requested by the coaches or on scoring plays.

Not having the space and not having it are two different things. You griped about this before and I told you that we used replay for the SU game in 2015. This is when the mandate was thrown out there. I know we got the equipment (as I said before). Just a matter of spacing and all that. That COULD be taken care of within the next year or so (I'll have more info when I hit up the NAA meeting Thursday and share it then)

I know I talked about space but I also remember them not having the technical infrastructure up there in that box also which can be easily corrected. Can't remember who actual did that game you speak of but it was probably their equipment that was used with assistance from a outside company for production value.

I'll even say that PV as the space and most of the equipment, they still lack the personnel to run it correctly. I have yet to see a replay on our board as the game has been played. All of the potential camera angles are not being used because of this too.

Well what's on the jumbotron doesn't matter as much as what's on the replay monitor. It is possible that the person working the scoreboard doesn't know how to show the replays. That person wouldn't be the person working the replay monitor.

the home Alcorn vs PV game had it. I remember they used it for the targeting play

How are our schools doing to be able to have this when the season starts.

The only school I'm wondering about is AAMU. I've seen everyone else stream their games at home and should be able to use it for replay.
