So the SWAC is going to instant replay next year?

How are our schools doing to be able to have this when the season starts.

The only school I'm wondering about is AAMU. I've seen everyone else stream their games at home and should be able to use it for replay.

We're installing a scoreboard & video system for the upcoming season. It should include instant replay if I recall correctly

Well, I want to commend Valley on having replay available at their home games this year. They said they only had 3 cameras doing the game but did use it at their game. I watch their game this past saturday against UAPB and they did use it a few times. None of the reviews was overturned (probably goes to angles) but they had it.

Hopefully those that don't have it this year will have it available for the 2019 season.

@Fiyah I know Coach Thomas voiced his displeasure about how our Administration failed to have instant replay. As far as I can recall, he’s the only Head Coach we’ve had to speak on a public forum about UAPB NOT having IR.

Don’t know if that’s enough for my school to invest in it, though. I hope Coach Thomas will stay on them about it.

I tried to tell yall we been had the equipment. Just don't think we had anyone capable of using it effectively until this year.

@96lioness If your school has the cameras to stream your games, you just need someone to get the replay software and be able to use it

Aside from UAPB, who all does not have the capability?

SWAC should start fining fining schools that dont have it .

According to the Swac Head of Official he stated these schools will have it officially and it will be in use at all of their home games.

Prairie View A&M
Alabama State
Alcorn State
Grambling State
Jackson State
Southern

I guess we can add Valley to it

there will be no penatlty for non compliance. More time was given due to press box space issues and cost for instant replay equipment which could easily be 50k.

Who will add it this year that didn't have it in 2018?

Can we add any other schools to this list?

The commish mentioned that 2020 instant replay will be mandated.

It was suppose to be mandated for 2018 but they didn't stick to it. Why 2020 when the software is available to all schools.

Right as I post this, I’m watching HFC Thomas on one of our local news (sports) stations. One of the things he said he was happy about was the IR now at Golden Lion Stadium. So we’ll see if it’s in place.

I promise Coach Thomas said he was tickled that we (UAPB) has someone in place that can work the Jumbotron

It's not the jumbotron that handles it. It's the camera angles and input into the DVS software is where it's at. Also the replay official needs to be in place to operate it.

That’s a process in itself - and when you involve TV it’s even bigger
