So FAMU and Valley in the MEAC/SWAC challenge?

I have no excuses for JSU showings... Honestly, It always appeared to me that Comegy approached those games like he didn't care about em. He was using them to experiment with stuff for conference play. That is how I feel in general though about our out of conference games in the Comegy era.

Comegy has always used the first couple of out of conference games to experiment. His goal is to win the East then the SCG.

As far as MEAC games, su beating below-average teams like a sorry Delaware State and FAMU those years isn't much to brag about, but I guess you have to find a ray of sunshine somewhere these days.

Well...there will be an announcement on whether the Marching 100 will be going this week. If the 100 is there, then you can expect an attendance boost...if they aren't in attendance, I can see 20,000+ being there. A lot of FAMU alumni are in the Central Florida area...especially Orlando and Tampa. Also a lot of fans may be saving money for the FAMU vs. TnSU game in Tallahassee the following weekend which should be a sellout.

Yeah, the marketer that called me to promote the game was trying to sell me on the possibility of the FAMU band being in attendance. I had to tell him IDGAF about no band. Esp. FAMU's band!

Okay and you think it was us who picked who we wanted to go up against. A few of meetings as I stated were given away to the MEAC. JSU vs Hampton. GSU vs Hampton and Sc State. Alabama St gave Sc State a win in 05 even though it was a double digit margin but Bama State had them.

They need to move this game to 7pm. Its too damn hot in Orlando FL for the fans or the football team to enjoy the game. All you really think about all game long is how hot it is. Either move the gametime move it to the GaDome or leave it the hell alone.

And suddenly the thread takes a nose dive...I'm telling you, JSU and SU folk will take a thread and just throw that sh*t way the hell in left field...besides if the 100 is there(which is not a guarantee right now) ain't nothing you can do but sit there and be mad

Now about FAMU and MVSU...

I heard on this morning's news that they will make a decision about FAMU's band today. The anchorman said that FAMU is scheduled to play Mississippi State here in Orlando. Yeah....Mississippi State.

That is lame as hell and will look horrible on television. Come on man.

bruh real talk I could give less than a damn how it looks on tv as long as the FOOTBALL PRODUCT Valley is putting on the field is putting in work. Ya'll can have the pomp and circumstance, but we just concerned with winning. At the end of the day winning is the bottom line.

College athletics is a business. Fan support generates revenue, investment, opportunities and further fan support. A bad looking broadcast does not sell our programs to potential corporate sponsors and other broadcast opportunities.

And our program has a well established history of showing up to win.

Well that's not for you to take up with Valley. Voice your concern to the SWAC office or who ever nominated Valley to play this year. Every school's culture and likeliness to travel to road games was available for research prior to this year- if you want to talk about the business component of it all.

Your program has a history of showing up to win?! Not since Billy Joe left has FAMU been a consistent winner.

I think they wait til the last minute to book teams. They need to book 3-4 years out... BUT I truly think they need to move the game to the midwest... I bet there is nobody black making decisions here.

Not gonna happen. ESPN/ Disney sponsors this game. When they backed out of the FL Classic, they started this one to kick off the season.

Remember, we were supps that's when FAMU and BCU held hands and said that they were going to remove themselves from participating in that game.

Compare the number of losing seasons you have had in the last decade compared to FAMU. We fire a coach after a losing season at FAMU. They arent allowed two. Sigh. Are you adding to the discourse here?

We have had 5 losing seasons in the last 40+ years and three of them were by one coach... I think that's pretty good.

What school doesnt market to their stakeholders directly?

How many of their "stakeholder" even pay alumni dues? We're talking about Valley. It doesn't matter how much marketing you do, you're not going to have Delta Devils lined up around the Citrus Bowl to get in. Just ain't gonna happen. This falls back on the SWAC offiice. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the office wants to give every school an opportunity to play in the game. If I'm Duer, only JSU and SU would play in this game. Grambling had a good turnout a few years back, also.

Not trying to dig on Valley, but it's all about knowing your product. You might can sell Valley in St. Louis, but you can't sell them in Orlando.
