Should We Over-turn Rowe vs Wade(spelling)?

The lady that was the original woman in the law suite who wanted abortion legal has now changed her mind and says abortion should be illegal. She sounds pretty convincing. Das tight. Reports say that females who had abortions now regret it and that it destroyed their lives, blah, blah, blah. Should the supreme court roll back abortion and make it illegal? tuff call. glad i ain't gotta make it.

Pro Choice here!!!!

But there should be some questions asked first:

1. What if the father of the childs wants to have the child and the mother doesn't?

2. Simply because he is the man does that relinquesh (sp) his rights?

In the end I believe it's pro choice because until the men of that small percentage who have kids and not taking care of them do their job....it will always be the woman's choice.

See these "bad men" have fugged it up for good men all over the world. Women aren't listening to that bullcrap...I'm a good man I take care of my kids or I'll take care of my kids. Seeing is believing with women. It's up to brothers to retake their role in the home. PERIOD.

Yup. That side of the argument (the women is the one who ultimately is impacted the most definitely physically, emotionally and financially if not married and/or guy doesn't keep our end of the bargain) I don't have a problem with. I even think we men have less say and are just out of luck if the woman decides to abort.

What i started thinking about was the baby though. what about the baby? are you actually killing a human? when? a week after conception? a month? 3 months? if so, is that right? it's the age old argument. still, it's the woman's body though and the baby is simply a dependent, parasite extension of it up to a certain point(which I don't know when that is. should that be the cutoff?),, but i do think about the life of the baby more than I used to. what if that was me in the womb(spelling). guess i wouldn't know the difference. i can't remember being in my mom's womb anyway, so if i was aborted would i know the difference? would my spirit (is a spirit created time the sperm and egg meet?) be in heaven waiting on my Mom?

What a timely question! Because I don't want my fellow TSPNer to leave ignorant, it's "Roe vs Wade. Now back to the point. My personal opinion is that life begins at conception. I also believe that the father should be offered input in the matter. Most men will say that they don't want their unborn child killed - however, how many go a step further and say," have the baby and I will take it and raise it."

Not wanting to start a heated debate over 'when life begins', but.....

TMade's belief is that 'LIFE' begins when the fetus is able to survive UNASSISTED on it's own.

TMade doesn't believe that life starts at conception.

We don't count chickens until they come out of the egg. Why should this be any different?

:look:

Women who really don't want the baby but, are willing(for whatever reason) to allow the father to raise the baqby MAY agree to it. I couldn't have a baby & NOT raise it though but, some do everyday. By the way, I'm pro choice.

I don't feel it should be overturned. The right to an abortion is all about the woman's right to privacy in terms of reproductive freedom- Its not a life or death issue.

^^ Well if that's the case then women should also bear the complete responsibility of raising them and taking care of them. If you are going to make the arguement that it's a woman's body and her decision then issues of compensation via Child support should be moot. Afterall how can a woman say some guy should support a child he helped to concieve if it's her decision alone.

BTW, your mother was pro-life!

I'm pro choice; however, I think that a woman having an abortion without the "father" having knowledge (at the very least) of the pregnancy is wrong. I feel that the man should know of the pregnancy, and not after an abortion has taken place.

Y'all won't have to worry about the answer to this question much longer. After Bush appoints some ultra-ultra conservatives to the SC bench, you women might not even be allowed to take the pill anymore. You'll be lucky to hold on to your right to vote!

The question should be phrased like thise:

What if a man is finacially ready but not redy to be married and is ready to be a father, but the woman is not and wants an abortion, does the woman still have the right to abort the child?

If the answer is YES.

Then the man has no initial parenting rights what so ever. Even if he is finacially and emotionally ready to be a father. So by default I pose the question like this.

What if a man is not finacially ready nor morally ready for a child, but the woman is, should the man be forced to pay child support, etc?

In either case the man has no rights to say whether the woman should or should not have the child.

Both of you are right about it being unfair from the father standpoint. However abortion and the woman's right to reporductive privacy can't and shouldn't take into account what's fair to the natural father. This is not an issue of what's fair to all parties, once you grant a privacy right the only issue is what's fair to actual party who enjoys this right, in this case being the natural birth-mother. As for what happens after birth, that's a whole other issue.

I wish I understood what you just wrote. Can you break it down to 3rd grade level?

When it comes to reproduction, a woman has abosolute control. If she wants to use birth control to prevent pregnancy, she can. If she wants to get a hysterectomy, she can. If she wants to end her pregnancy before the fetus actually becomes a living being, she can. Why, because until that fetus becomes viable(usually after 23-24 weeks), its just as much a part of her body as her ovaries.

Do you think the 'rights' of the mother should be extended to include underage girls who become pregnant?? Should the Law allow them the to make the final decisions regarding whether to keep or terminate a pregnancy, with or without the parents consent? And if so, how would you enforce it?? If the parents don't agree to be financially responsible for the new baby, should their wishes to 'imposed' on the daughter, and outweigh her rights to decide what happens in/involving her body????

Are we suggesting that pregnant underage teenagers be afforded that same rights as an 'emancipated Teen' would?????

Can the teenage mother FORCE her parents to be financially responsible for her (the teenager) and her unborn child????

I question, how can any of you have belief in God and believe in abortion. There's a word for that..................

I repeat:

Y'all won't have to worry about the answer to this question much longer. After Bush appoints some ultra-ultra conservatives to the SC bench, you women might not even be allowed to take the pill anymore. You'll be lucky to hold on to your right to vote!

Know this from this day forward. This is yet another reason it was so important that this li'l imp not be re-elected. Many of these folks went to the polls and didn't look past their noses when they voted.

Pro-choice. No doubt I believe its wrong to terminate a pregancy, but I believe that one should have that choice. It is a moral issue if the woman chooses not to discuss the matter with the father before making the choice.

Jesus loved us so much that he gave everyone a "choice".

If you have something to say, then say it. Don't delete it.

A woman made the choice of letting a man seduce her.

She made the choice of lettin him hit raw and releasing all in it.

Now she wants to correct her mistakes by making an unborn child pay for her mistakes. (If the condom broke then i understand)

If abortion isn't a form of birth control then what is it? (unless raped or it affects her health) The child should be born.

Question? How can a man tell a woman what to do with her body?

Answer? She didn't get knocked up by herself. She had help. If and when a woman is able to get knocked up by herself then she can make that choice. (Sperm Banks still need male contributions)

Since a woman didn't get knocked up by herself she should not make that choice by herself. Point Blank.

Pro Choice Huh? She made that choice to let a man HIT RAW. Wassup with that!!!???

People are so quick to say it's a womans choice. Why would you wanna kill someone whose only crime was being conceive by a self fish girl. There are other options like A CONDOM or ADOPTION. Both the woman and man are lame if they say that with a condom it doesn't fill the same.

Pro Choice Huh? You all seem to forget that having kids isn't a privalige(Sp) it's a blessing, because everyone can't have kids.

Pro Choice Huh? Abortion is a self fish act. You never know what that child may have been because it never had a chance.

Pro Choice Huh? She had to many choices up until that point. Now she must deal with her choices.

All too often i had girls tell me what if the government said that i couldn't masterbate anymore. That it would be illegal. First off, i didn't and don't need noone to give me what i have. I was born with it. A woman need help to get pregnant(Sp)

Someone needs to step to the plate and NOT make ABORTION a option.

When you lie to someone............They're still living

When you steal from someone........They're still living

But Killing.............
