LOL I was trying to give SU the benefit of the doubt! Are you saying that SU came out to play with the same level of preparation against Alcorn as they did against A&T?
If SU played consistently and did their best against Alcorn and just got beat by a better team, then they are waay over-ranked. I dont think this is the case. They just didnt come out to play that week. Inconsistency.
They lost to unranked D-2 Fort Valley!!! Winston Salem State handled FVSU. Miles College beat them. That football factory Benedict College handed them their arse. Alcorn gave up almost 300 on the ground and took an unlubricated L from these guys, and then turned around and beat SU. And you think SU is playing consistently?:lmao:

I recall you winning both times but I also recall you winning less impressively... teams get better as the season progresses unless a lot of injuries set in.

SU is a good team. But maybe they are overconfident and dont consistently prepare for everybody, which is why they lost to a scrub team with a losing record.Originally posted by bluedog

My team did that a few years ago. We beat the best of the conference (FAMU, BCC, etc) but then turned around and lost to Morgan State. We didnt deserve to be ranked either because we didnt come to play consistently every week, even if we could beat some of the teams ranked above us.

Many people are just envious because of who we are..........The SUPERIOR black college athletic program in America. When one wins 3 out of the last 6 SWAC football titles, 3 out of the last 10 BCF NC, 10 out of 17 SWAC championships, 28th ranked baseball team in the USA, #1 baseball player in America, #1 indoor long jumper in America, 3rd most (all time) wins (soon to be 2nd) among all black colleges, envious detractors come with the territory. Yes, it is sad to say but the Bill 0'Reily's, David Dukes, Clarence Thomas and Alan Keys of the world will always be lurking around spewing illogical spin in attempt to prove they belong somewhere with their SUpeirior on top of the excellence hill. Unfortunate for them, we have moved from excellence to preeminence.

You lost to Morgan State because of the type of offense they ran. Your defense was used to short passes and running teams. Even FAMU had the RAC boys but never went deep. When Hill-Eley came in and put that deep ball on you, your DB's were outclassed. This is same thing that happened when your stout defense ran up on the run-n-shoot of Jackson State.

The difference between good teams and great teams is consistent preparation, and not sleeping on anybody. We had beaten Morgan for I dont know how many years in a row, and we didnt prepare correctly for them. Mo Hicks had an all-world day on offense (437 yards rushing) but the defense wasnt ready, and didnt make the proper adjustments.
I think SU may have fallen into the same trap, but these clowns refuse to admit it. They foolishly slept on Alcorn, took the L, but still want the world to put them on a pedastal. You beat A&T. Congrats. That dont mean anything if you look like garbage against a losing team a few weeks later. Plus SU doesnt have a "redemption game" against a good team until the BC.

So you are saying that Alcorn is actually good? They let an unranked SF Austin team drop 60 on em, and then they lose to uranked D-2 Fort Valley. And they are supposed to be good?
Face it, SU lost to a sorry team, and now your ranking is suffering for it. Deal with it.

First you say its because of SU strength of schedule than you say it's becasue SU lost to an unranked team, how about making up your damn mind.
Btw give us your best expert opinion as to why TNSU is ranked above SU again after losing to these unranked teams.

I can't beleive you cant see it.
1. You fall hard when you lose to unranked, sorry teams.
2. You dont climb as fast when you beat up NAIA/D-2 teams.
These concepts are quite simple, and pretty universal. Look at what will happen to TCU if they happen to lose. They will fall just as hard, if not harder. Set your ego and school pride aside, and think about it for just a minute. :idea:
