Seven FCS teams cash in via upsets

That guy new better but decided to take a cheap shot and got responded to accordingly......

Yeah I saw that. Don't know why the McNeese folks so up in arms about playing SU. IF we are beneath them in football, why would you even care for us to come to Lake Charles? I don't see SE La who is actually closer or Nicholls State asking like that. Then one of them said they filled our stadium. That was a lie. I doubt very seriously that game had more than our homecoming game that season. 04 was a SCG year for SU. If anything, I remember it being a disappointing crowd from the McNeese folks coming. Unlike the NW State folks who had shown up in years past when we played them.

Honestly, I didn't know the two were unrelated. I knew you had ineligible players...and you had a grade scandal. Figured they were related...

That's how this board works, right? Assumptions based on facts not in evidence?? Or is it only the regulars who can engage in that??? ;)

I see you have a strange relationship with the truth (not going to call you a liar because I don't like repeating what others say). :emlaugh:

If they were related, The Advocate would have been all over it and not only that a VISIT FROM THE NCAA. That 04 Team played for the SWAC Championship. So anything they would have done illegally would have been out there in plain view. Pete ran clean programs. Players were ineligible because he recruited some NOT SO SMART mofos.

I believe they know better but don't mind playing with the truth. I've actually read on their message board some of their posters acknowledging they don't have the crowds that S.U. does.

Actually, what was said was that THAT year, we gave you your biggest visiting crowd...

I mean, if we're gonna call people out as liars and all, let's make sure we're keeping it honest, k?

I doubt that seriously.

I doubt if the McNeese game had more than homecoming. I also remember we moved our home game to the Superdome against Jackson State that year. So I seriously doubt if the McNeese game exceeded that game as well. :emlaugh:

No you didn't. Folks were actually pissed off that McNeese folks didn't come like talking about. I remember it well. It was well under the expectations that our then AD (Floyd Kerr) thought.

This guy needs to stop. Quit. Give up.

Has he been right about anything?

The fact that y'all backed out of an ass whipping you know you had coming...
The fact that, eventually, y'all paid the guarantee...but only after you tried everything in the world to avoid paying it..

I was spot on about those! And the fact that despite all that, Southernites still have the audacity to talk smack.

Oh well..we all have to go with our strengths...

So y'all only had two games in Mumford that year?

What does how many games were played in Mumford have to do with the lie you just told?

It was proven to you that McNeese did NOT bring the largest crowd. Yet, you're still trying to deflect attention away from the truth.

Why don't you just admit that you were wrong? Again.

If I was trying to deflect attention away from TRUTH, I'd lie and say that Southern was an honorable program ;)

Wait, I'm gonna retract that. Y'all DID pay the buy out....eventually ;)

Enough with ULL and LSU. Where do the UAPB fans live on this board? What do they think about the upcoming game? What is the deal with their dozen or so players who couldn't play last week? Will they be back to play against us?

I spent a month in Pine Bluff, Ark once evacuated for Hurricane Rita. Actually, it was 10 days in a Super 8 hotel but felt like a month. There wasn't anything to really do there and the highlight of the trip was going to Walmart at 2am when they were unloading a truck to buy as many gas cans as we could to fill up and bring back home for generator use. I swore I would never go back there to stay. :D

I sort of freak out when I heard we scheduled UAPB because I thought it might be a home and home situation and I might have to go back there, but they quickly told me it was a one game deal. :D

UAPB GOLDEN LIONS!!!!!!

Actually SU didn't pay the buy out :) . ESPN paid the buy out  . We had a choice to play McNeese in LC or play FAMU on ESPN in B-ham. But what the cowpoke fella fells to mention McNeese did a school the same thing, I think it was Cal Poly, that they didn't return a game to, to play a money game.

The difference is, when the opportunity to play a money game came up, we were up front with Cal Poly, told them what was going on...they immediately understood and we both handled it like gentlemen. We didn't whine and mewl and stamp our feet and try to drag it out and look for a way NOT to honor our obligations....If we'd have been Southern, we'd have tried to claim that more money was a Force Majure and therefore the buy out wasn't owed. But, thankfully, we're not like Southern....If we were, I'm sure we'd focus on color and fabric, too...because if we were like Southern, we couldn't legtimately talk about the product on the field...

You know what the worst thing about going to Mumford was?

It rained, so we didn't get to hear the band. We expected your terrible football. We were hoping that the halftime entertainment would be good enough to make the trip worthwhile!

Hurricane Katrina wasn't SU's fault. I remember their folks crying on their board about the game being cancelled. That the state should make SU pay this and that. These folks didn't care about NO being damn near wiped off the map. At the time SU had damn near 50 players from the NO area. They irony of it all a couple of weeks later Rita damn near wiped LC off the map. They are a welfare school. Always with their handout. That more than anything was the reason SU didn't play them. They pissed the wrong folks off with all that BS they were spewing everywhere.

No, but if your SOCCER TEAM can come to Lake Charles to play the day AFTER we were supposed to play the football game, Katrina was a lame excuse....Or is soccer unaffected by Hurricanes??

We could talk about the earlier "non-signed" contract that Southern wouldn't return the first time we talked about getting the game made. It got sent to Southern, who announced they signed it...The Pete pitched a bitch about it, and then it was announced the game wouldn't be made...

McNeese then asked for the unsigned contract to be sent back...it never was ;) Why do you suppose that is????

You are so busy begging SU for another game that you never noticed that Golden Lion that came into this thread, McNeese's next opponent. And you posted three different times after that Lion appeared. :emlaugh:
