Seems like an athlete finally comes out of the closet.....

This is something that he should've kept to himself. He is obligated to play ball not air out his personal life. I could care less what he does at home, just go out there and hoop!

I think the NBA paid him to say that, to attract more gay fans to games, especially in struggling markets.

You obey all and repent when you break any.

Why repent if you know you are doing wrong to begin with? Repenting is like stepping back in your own sh@t.

Some people repent to God, others repent to Santa Claus. Keep sinning and keeping repenting, maybe one day you will realize repenting is nothing but a synonym for hypocrisy.

Athletes do it all the time, whether it's talking about charities they support, what illinesses their spouses or children have, their faith- lots of things that are personal. The human interest angle is a very big part of sport.

Wait What!!!

You say this yet WE ALL sit on here and in our real word life and judge while in the next breath saying you don't judge...I just wish folks would stop the lie before making whatever it is they are going to judge!

Girl shut up lol. We all play on this site but some of us in the "Real World" know we can't judge because we sin, it's other that act like they are so perfect and do no wrong.

A lot of those things are media inquiries, the masses could care less. The average fan just want their players to go out there and kick ass. If you wear heels and paint your toes at home thats something you choose to do, but who really wants to hear that type of ish in the locker room? Its irrelevant and too soap operish for me man....

You know, like they always say, there's three sides to a story, his side, her side, and then there's the truth. I'm sure she was trying to make her baby daddy look gay.

Women lie all the time about their baby daddies. Nothing new here. My info came from an investigating team member who happens to be a brother that would not care if dude would have been gay or not. As a matter he didn't even like ole Jayson after having to deal with him during the investigation. LOL. So sorry if I don't buy her story at all. It don't even make sense. If they were willing to cover up him shooting the guy being drunk. Surely if he had walked in on them fugging with each other, they would have discredited him. Wasn't like Williams wasn't married at the time anyway to a Lawyer at that who could have spun a drunken limo driver's story as just that. Nah that didn't happen and the authorities don't buy into that either. Dude was just an obnoxious drunk who was careless with guns and had already had some incidents with them before that happened. It just caught up to him that night. Everybody ain't gay. LOL. Plus he had family folks at the house too. Wasn't like he was there with just his boys as she said. He must have kicked her to the curb or something. LOL. Miss a child support payment and now you a gay arse punk nicca. LOL.

Yep. Look at Dennis Rodman. Dude was flamboyant all the way. The Bulls fans could have cared less what he might or might not be doing off the court. As long as he kicked arse on it. I am sure some of his teammates thought he was suspect or on the down low with his antics but he came to play and folks didn't care.

What does that have to do with anything? Is he gay? Did he testify?

I was just saying since there are few on here that's probably from Monroe, but to answer your question, he did testify and was interviewed on the news.

Not really. We love a good backstory. We love stories about athletes who express their humanity. People, whether we agree with it or not, want to have a personal connection with athletes. We want to believe that athletes are no different than the next man.

A lot of people support Ray Lewis and Tim Tebow because they express their faith every chance they get. I know Brandon Marshall is very open about his mental health struggles. There are people who can relate to that.

You have Jay Cutler who speaks about how he deals with diabetes. RA Dickey wrote and spoke extensively about him being sexually abused as a kid. How often have we heard someone say after hearing one of these personal stories folk say, "Dang, I didn't know that. I'm a fan now?" Or "because Lance Armstrong beat cancer, it inspired my recovery?"

It happens a bunch.

As far as the locker room goes, Rodman was out in public with wedding dresses on, and I don't think it distracted the Bulls from winning three rings with him on the roster.

Pro locker rooms have dealt with a lot worse than a dude coming out.

Oh you mean dude that played with him Benoit Benjamin being from North La. Good thing for him, he wasn't in the room when all that happened.

I'm not saying there were any gay activity going on at the house, I was just stating what ole girl told me. But here is some information that might help clear up what took place.

From reading the article above, a lot of things didn't seem right, but like I said previously, somewhere out there lies the truth.

Yeah it was something not right, them mofos were drunk as isht and some of them tried to help Williams cover the crime after he shot dude to look like a suicide until their stories broke down and the authorities got them in separate interviews and found out that. Williams even called one of his cop buddies over to assist. That is the travesty of the whole thing. A couple of those guys pleaded guilty for trying to help cover it up and testified in the case. Like I said, one of folks I know pretty well from my Navy days was on that case for the State. He is now a Federal Agent. Dude was like them mofos were drunk and fugged up and tried to protect Williams. Sounds like ole Benoit was a broke mofo in 04 when that article was written. It all came out man. I guess you have not seen the fact that Williams had to go to jail behind all that and a couple of his boys did get caught up with their lies. All that story you linked to your post said was them mofos were all trying to get their stories right. The trial had not happened yet when that article was written. They finally got to the truth and folks started having to take deals and such and Williams got sentenced. Dude is just an alcoholic and his soon to be ex wife has written and talked about it how he is Jeckyll and Hyde. Said she had to sleep with a knife under pillow when he was drinking. He is supposed to be finally getting himself together. But who knows. He has had plenty of run ins with the law since that incident.

Here is the aftermath of all of it when it was finally over.

I think this is attention whoring to the highest degree. They're turning a marginal role playing free agent into a martyr. NEXT

So,when Tebow got all that attention in college and in the pros because he professed his faith(even though he wasn't the first athlete or even accomplished athlete to do so) that wasn't attention whoring? How about when Pat Summitt announced she had a degenerative disease? What about dudes who announce what schools they're going to?

I was thinking the same thing. Plus he is at the end of his career pretty much anyway. So he had nothing really to lose. His days were already numbered as a player.
