SEC Accepts Texas A&M

The SEC will be a Superconference.....

They will pick up the following three:
Baylor - Yea I said it....
Florida State - In state Florida Rival
Clemson - In state South Carolina Rival

Mark my words!!!!

PWCs have inquired though but how do they benefit us long term? Needing a home and being beneficial in a home is two different things

I think it would depend on the PWC in question.

From a basketball standpoint-what PWC would come here and get the SWAC a higher seed in the NCAA tourney? Because all the other schools would have to raise thier game up to where the SWAC would gets seeds to do what Butler has done.

Because what would they give up coming to the SWAC? What recruiting would they lose? What teams won't play them? IF you are North Texas-you wouldn't setback that basketball team or risk a bowl game to be in the SWAC.

What good is getting the bottom feeders from other conferences? They will BOLT the first chance they get after abusing SWAC schools and stealing SWAC kids.

Might as well have the SWAC teams work together to build up the conference and get halfway or better than Sunbelt or COnference USA or Patriot League.

If we could get rid of this aweful SCG, then we could offer them a playoff chance of a NC.

Getting rid of the SCG would not give us a chance to win a National championship. The MEAC does not have a chance to win a national championship. They just have a chance to go to the playoffs. BIG....HUGE difference. Like it or not, the only hope for HBCU football is to go D1-A. We won't get any talent otherwise. We will never beat those So Con schools. You have to put yourself the position to advance. If FAMU had remained a 1-A team, they would likely be in a good position to move into the Sunbelt. While I do believe that FAMUs move was ill advised, -Black folks just scared of change. All of these other schools and conferences are trying to make more money while our alums are beyotching about a worthless 1-AA playoff system. :smh:

The SEC will NEVER drop Vanderbilt....they are a Chartered member....don't forget that it's just not about football either. Football is a small part of Vanderbilt. The SEC's ONLY private institution.

I don't agree. I think the ACC schools are safe and the SEC is already in those markets. I can only see the SEC going into new territory. I think Oklahama will be the target.

The SEC won't drop them but the reason's you state are not the reason why. They won't simply becasue they won't. Vandy would have to voluntarily leave, which is not out of the realm of possibility.

Of course TP, Im not talking about a FBS NC. I'm talking about FCS now. And if we are in the playoff picture, then we have a chance to win the whole thing.

LOL.....I think Vandy would be a good fit for the ACC but C-USA would not be bad either. However, we both know they are not going anywhere.

People can stop all this garbage about Vandy or any other team in the SEC being kicked out. Most that say that only look at conference expansion from a small point of view. These type of conferences look at what the entire school brings off the playing field also.

Why in heck would we try to move to FBS class when people in this conference are too scared to compete against the teams in FCS. How you gonna say we can go to FBS and do better against other FBS teams, MID-MAJORS like La. Tech, when people in HBCU world have already thrown in the towel with this we can't compete crap.

Hell.......................WE DON'T EVEN TRY TO COMPETE ANYMORE AT THE FCS LEVEL. How we gonna compete at the FBS level. Moving up to play each other in a more expensive division that requires adding MORE sports teams at our Universities is crazy. We ain't making no bowl games with a slate of FBS HBCU's that are scraping the financial bottom of the barrel at this level because of no vision. :smh:
