hey smart azz what major event happened in baton rouge (well southwest louisiana) that caused an economic downfall that resulted in alot of people having to put money into their homes?

ill give u a hint... it has a french name...

Hey smart azz excuse maker.

Katrina was 4 fuggin year's ago.
And on top of that, Katrina ground ZERO was just east of Bay St. Louis Mississippi...............Not Southwest louisana......New Orleans like people try to make it out to be. .

The economic downturn has hit everybody.
People in Jackson had to put money into their homes also.
We didn't have power or gas for week's just like ya'll.
Had 100 plus MPH winds all night, neighborhoods wrecked, and we still had to handle the influx of people from the mississippi gulf coast and louisana.

I know damm well you not using katrina as the reason for SU not filling a stadium 4 year's later in 2008.

The point that you are missing is that it is difficult to travel to Mumford. However, I am willing to bet that JSU brings more fans there than ANY OTHER opponent you play.

Uh Frat...........folks are still not back in New Orleans. Alot of them who used to roll up to BR for games are living elsewhere and the ones who did come back.......some of them can't afford our ticket prices anymore.

Hell New Orleans is still trying to get all their schools back up and running.

Also unless you lived on the Gulf Coast of Ms.....you did not experience what those folks in New Orleans did. When the hurricane hit land and moved through Ms and passed through Jackson it did not do the same kind of damage it did in on the Gulf or in La. Yall lost power and some people had trees blown down and some damage to their property.....but not to the extent folks had to leave Jackson and never come back.

It aint no excuses it is fact.......we lost some fan base with Katrina happening. Now with the economy being bad the last few years, you really think folks want to pay that kind of money to see a football game. They can't afford to take their families like talking about. Remember gas was out of control last year as well. Our attendence has been taking a hit every year since 2005. Folks are just starting to return to BC.

If a hurricane hit Jackson and tore it up to the point that folks had to leave....yall would be in worse shape due to the city not being as big as N.O. Alot of folks would never come back if they had to leave. Even 4 years later.

For the rest of our fan base that were not affected by Katrina.......I am sure those high ticket prices is not helping either. No excuse..........just reality. I am sure Memorial would have more people if tickets were 10-12 bucks instead of the price they are now.

I will not even mention Gustav that hit BR last year and did damage to the city......it affected attendence at home and on the road last season.

Hurricane Gustav happened in 2008... smdh who da hell said anything about 5yrs old katrina. Gustav tore up Baton Rouge hence we didnt have many fans at Uof H game or the TnState game in nashville. Hell it took over a month for everyone to get power back in baton rouge. If stupid was a stop sign boy....

Okay...so since now yall are using Hurricane's as excuses (legitimate or not)...

Why not just say that up front instead of typing all the other bullshyt to cover up the fact that yall got issues?!?!

6 pages...and in the end...

SUcks finally admits they don't fill their staidum FOR WHATEVER REASON
SUcks still is discussing that they may/may not want to move their home game to Jackson
SUcks fans purchase tickets on Ticketmaster...

SUcks...yall need to seek counseling!!! LMAO

6 pages and this boy pulls out the "Hurricane" excuse...
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

WTH?!?!

Dude, it is WAAY more hassle trying to get a ticket on game DAY.. Chances are you won't get the SEATS you are looking for and you may not end up on the side you want to be on..
..

Uhhh..........band dude. There is no hassle for me to walk up to the ticket gate on gameday at Memorial and buy my ticket. What the hell are YOU talking about? Then I get to sit wherever I like.

I am not talkin about gettin into BR...i am talkin about gettin into Mumford. Even IF you can get a ticket on the 50 yard line, you may not want to sit there BY YO DAYUM SELF surrounded by yellas!

well actually since the question was asked why attendence was lower in 2008 i told him. its a fact not an excuse. Go visit the hurricane forum and see the pictures of baton rouge. we had they eye of a category 3 hurricane hit BR, dead center. The funny part is dumb azz though i was talking about katrina...:lmao: idiots i tell you.

i never had an issue of waiting in line but i only used the visitor side entrance once in life. Your surrounded by "yellas" anytime you play us. You light skin so you'll match just change out the ugly arse jsu stuff and put blue & gold on. :fart:

I understand the point of view about the man getting his cut. It does not make sense to give up a home game to play the game in the opposing schools home stadium. The logic behind that :noidea: I definitely do not understand. I would much rather play it at a neutral site. Add in the expenses for the use of the stadium, security, SU will have to pay for busing and housing the team out there, the band, the cheerleaders, and other expenses that come along with playing a game, I wonder if this would really benefit SU.

I say leave it in Mumford, I could care less if JSU fans don't want to come to Baton Rouge. It's not our fault that we have our own football stadium. When LSU goes off to play Bama, Ole Miss, and etc. you may see only a small puddle of purple and gold in one tiny section. That's why it is a home game, home field advantage. It just so happens that Jackson plays in a stadium that is too big for them. I hope that it is not a case of my school trying to accomodate JSU fans...

Your picture would be in living color all over the world Terrell.

LSU can still sell out a 100,000 seat stadium 1 mile away from MUMFORD and ya'll can't even get 25,000 because of the Hurricane excuse.
Thank's for admitting ya'll just some broke arse hoodrats.

and those LSU fans got more money than both our fan bases put together. You aint comparing apples to apples.

You are being very generalizing in calling SU some broke arse hoodrats. JSU folks have no more money than SU folks. I seem to remember folks on here talking about how the games being played in the day or earlier than 7 was causing problems in Jackson because folks had to work......now I would be wrong in saying that Ole Miss or Ms State can play their came at 8am on Saturday morning and still be packed.....but JSU can't. See where I am going with this. So apparantly the economy aint affected them OTHER folks from going to their games.

LSU got people waiting in line to purchase season books and tickets. None of us have that luxury and we aint even on their level of thinking when it comes to supporting our schools. We talk the talk but aint walking the walk. That includes every school in our conference.

When it comes time for JSU alums to finance their own stadium if they ever sell Memorial(don't hold your breath for the state to totally finance you a stadium because it aint going to happen) then you will find out the same isht the rest of have. Black folks have issues in supporting our schools across the board. It is a sad commentary that folks think SU is so damn bad and aint nothing remotely happening at your respective schools. We all have the same issues and problems and lot of it starts with us. And if we think one state is doing more for the other then I got some real prime property to sell some people in the Gulf. LOL. Ms nor La gives a rats arse about any of our schools. So in that case we are all broke hoodrats.
