Richard Sherman: "As Human Beings All Lives Matter"

Deeeeep In The Delta.....
Frat or not, this dude is on the same level as Stephen A Smith when it comes to having a voice but spewing a lot of empty rhetoric. He's trying so hard to make BLM a voilent group of thugs (because of a few bad apples) while missing the entire point of why BLM was organized. His Stanford education matters now as compared to when he "scared" Erin Andrews

So glad that Bomani is calling him out in the tweet. Tariq needs to hurry up and fire up the train again lol

But ya'll like this dude.. .
At least we down to just two ignorant azzez with the Seahawks since Ignoramous #1 is gone.

There's more than a few bad apples in the movement too....Enough that it's progress on legitimate issues is stymied by statements and actions from within...

But my question is....

I'm a cop. I live and work thousands of miles away from Baltimore, and have no connection to the incident other than the fact that I put on a badge and carry a gun like they do/did. How am I rotten for not having something to say about something I know nothing about? That's what the problem is now. Those that know the LEAST say the MOST.

Who are the bad apples directly associated with the BLM movement?

There have been some who've used the protests and marches as an excuse to commit certain acts.

But that's just a result of large a gathering of people who all do not have the same purpose for participating in demonstrations to begin with.

It's not the same as cops, who actually represent law enforcement and the state, continually involved in police misconduct.

No BLM leaders or advocates have done such.

True but we got folks acting like EVERY cop is a rotten apple.

Some of the worst things done to us have been by other blacks and I am not just talking black on black crime.

Every cop isn't rotten, but there have been far too many who have been -- who represent a system that is rotten in the eyes of the public.

I mean Chicago has paid $521 million to settle police misconduct lawsuits over the last decade. And then there was the whole stop-and-frisk issue in New York that was ruled unconstitutional. Those are just a few things that make black folks not trust any officer.

You just named 2 departments, 2 of the largest in the country.....yet they only represent a fraction of law enforcement.

You got proof of your claims?

I don't just make stuff up. Anybody around here will tell you that we may not always agree in opinion, but I don't just make up stuff....I speak in facts.

Until folks can get real on BOTH sides of the table, there will be no real change. I NEVER in a million years thought I would quote George W. Bush, but the one thing he said that I think he got right (*think I just threw up a bit in my mouth*....lol)

"Too often we judge other groups by their worst examples, while judging ourselves by our best intentions." -- GWB

You do know that are more than two police departments in the US that have had a history of rampant police misconduct, right? I know you're a cop and have to defend the badge, but come on.

That's the thing....I'm not defending ANYTHING...And I KNOW that, but the examples YOU referenced were were SPECIFICALLY those 2 departments, were they not? All I'm saying is, if you gonna use logic for one side, apply the same logic to the other, WITHOUT QUALIFICATION.

You're hung up on the two examples I used to illustrate a point.

The problem with your demand is that you have yet to present any evidence to back up your claim, or to highlight any inequities.

So stop the grandstanding.

I made PLENTY of points that you are not willing to recognize because they don't fit your theory. You are entitled to your opinion....:)

As for me and my facts, like I said, I don't just throw shat against the wall....

Now, I have admitted many times before that law enforcement is not perfect and there are some that don't deserve to wear a badge.....But don't sit here and try to tell me that everyone in "the movement" is "doing it the right way". So like I said EARLIER.....When both sides can be REAL about THEMSELVES, only THEN will there be any chance at a resolution to the issue. Is there fault to be had with policing? Yes. Is there fault in the black community? Yes. But right now, everybody just points at the other side's faults while trying to put forth their most shining example. That ain't progress.

1. Headline said the guy in Portland was a BLM leader, but the story describes him just a protester.

2. The kid in StL wasn't a BLM activist either. The story said he'd never even been to a rally or demonstration. He was just a guy talking about the movement on social media.

3. The woman who got kicked off the plane was described as a BLM activist in the headline, but there was no mention of her activism in the story.

4. And this woman Sunshine who allegedly thanked Micah Johnson in a tweet was described as a BLM activist, but yet there isn't any evidence provided that she is a BLM activist.

5. Charles Wade is the only person who is actually a BLM activist.

I find it awfully ironic that all these stories came from conservative or extreme right-wing websites, which, like Fox News and other conservative news outlets, strongly is against BLM.

And these sites, and even MSM sources, seemingly can't help but label any black person who supports the movement or reference BLM or supports black people as a BLM activist or leader.

You gotta do better, officer.

Unknowingly, you are making my point for me...I am not a NYPD officer, and my dept does things much differently than Chicago (which were your 2 examples). We have a totally different focus from Houston PD, and our style is not the same as Atlanta PD or NOPD (my examples). So why am I, an officer with no connection or affiliation to them being lumped into their boat?

You don't want ANY officer making a sweeping generalization about blacks. If any officer were to come out and say "If the good blacks don't come out an speak against those nikkas, then they are just as bad", y'all would be ready to burn him at the stake. But you are staunchly defending doing the same thing to another group....The hypocrisy knows no end.

I can ALWAYS do better. It's part of my DNA...I'm never satisfied with where I am....So that last lil jab missed...:)

As for those stories, you have a point about the source, but think of the day and age we are in...On the internet, facts don't matter (obviously) to most. If it sounds plausible, people will run with it. It doesn't matter if it says BLM founder, BLM protester, BLM activist, BLM follower, or BLM groupie......It will be associated with BLM.....Just like you associate Chicago PD with NYPD with Houston PD with LAPD with Boston PD with Atlanta PD, so on and so forth. All people see is the collective.

Because you, fairly or unfairly, represent an entity that is seen as partaking in a system of oppression in the eyes of the public regardless of what law enforcement agency you work for.

And attempting to equate how law enforcement is viewed in comparison to BLM is a misguided simply on the basis that there isn't enough evidence to suggest that those associated with BLM deserve the same scrutiny as law enforcement.
