Richard Sherman: "As Human Beings All Lives Matter"

You sure about that?
Since we are devil's advocating...law enforcement has a history of infiltrating grassroots groups with trouble makers to incite and derail movements. I would not put it past them (generic generalization) to do it to Black Lives Matter.

Side note...
I learned something today I did not know. Huey P. Newton had a PhD. Yeah, the co-founder of the Black Panthers Huey P. Newton. History makes him out to be a malcontent who was uneducated. I knew he studied law but was not aware he had earned a PhD.

And unlike the Sigma in the title of the thread, he used his PhD to learn the system that was oppressing his people and used it to his advantage.

Herb, good point. In my opinion, that's a more solid argument than the one presented for much of this thread.

And that's what I have been advocating for quite some time. Do some aspects of the "system" need change? Absolutely. In the mean time, why not learn it, and then make it work for you...All while still advocating for its change.

I think it was in social science or sociology. Can't remember which.
Newton earned a Ph.D. in social philosophy at the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1980.
His doctoral dissertation was entitled War Against the Panthers: A Study of Repression in America.

Now y'all KNOW Sherman has been spanked and put in his place (a la Charles Barkley). What else did you think was going to come from him?

Let's keep in mind that these are just athletes who speak their mind. It doesn't mean they know what the heck they're talking about. Somebody just put a mike in their face and suddenly they become "an expert". They're not.

I'm not surprised, once you are controlled by white daddy and receive you money from white daddy and white momma, you gotta speak like a c**n.

It's time for black ppl to stop being surprised/shock by what these celebs say. They are part of the system, Everybody won't be on the same page as others. Gotta keep teaching our kids and youth.. that's the main ppl that we need to reach, the youth, cousins/sons/daughters/etc.

Say breh,

We've had our differences and we may continue to have our differences, but as a black man to another one..be safe out there breh..real talk.

That's real bruh... Much appreciated. It's a tough time to be a black officer. We're between a rock (being black) and a hard place (the job we swore to do). I'm just glad we can agree to disagree on points and leave it at that and still have a mutual respect even when we don't see eye to eye.
