I have, but historically is what I talking about (known), it will be interesting to see if they still vote this fall. The black vote tailed off in Texas, his staff said they did not get as much as they thought they would in the urban centers.

1. McCain has no energetic base; he is just ?The Only Republican on the Ticket?. He does less to charge the Republican Party than a 1.02 volt AA battery (such is too weak to power a clock). He is a Low Voltage contender, the human cure for the sleep deprived.
2. Hillary seems to be Doomed, she has lost the Black Vote and possibly the energized Youth Vote. If she somehow gets the nomination, she will need Obama to convince his supporter to vote for Her. A Democrat has little or not chances without the Black Vote.
3. Obama has challenges, Rev. Wright, Fox News, and many others
Only God knows the name of the Next President. However, no matter what, the Person that has done more to elevate the interest of this Presidential Primary is Obama. In all honesty, I don?t recall ever voting in a primary prior to this one.

Good questions Mr. Styles. I will give you my two cents.
#2. How is she doomed because of the black and youth vote?
Currently (even with another primary in FL and MI), Hillary will not likely have enough delegates to win the nomination, thus Obama will have more Delegates and More Popular votes. If Hillary somehow persuade the Super Delegates to give her the required number she needs to become the Party Nominee, black and youth voters will feel that a Rogue Political SYSTEM has usurped the Will of the People. If this happens, many Obama's supporters (including myself) will not vote and/or will not vote for Hillary. This will cause a riff in the Democratic Party such that has never been seen before.
#2. When was the last time these two groups played a serious factor in the general election?
This is an interesting question, one the reinforces my statement about the effect of Obama. There has never been a energized Youth Vote, like the one Obama has generated.
The consistent block of Black voters in the 1992 & 1996 General Election is what clinch the election for Bill Clinton. Had he not had the Black Vote, he would not have one. We as a Group, vote more consistent than any other group in America, this is not always a good thing; However, it is reality.
#3. What about the Hispanic and older white vote?
Your guess is as good as mine. Based on TV poles, in the Democratic Primary they mostly have supported Hillary. It does seem that Obama has taken a few of the Hispanic away. However in the General Election, Who knows.
The lack of an energized black and youth vote is why the Dems lost both contests to Bush. The Dems are counting on these demographics to win in '08.

The Dems are in deep trouble if they are counting on those votes. Those groups historically dont vote. I am interested to see if the youth will maintain interest in the fall.
illinijag - you know thats true, just not for Hillary, but for Obama too.
It will be interesting to see if they can make up and get the others supporters to vote for them in the fall. Its getting bloody right now, this will only hurt any unification attempts in the fall. I have read some response on here, that let me know that there is no way Obama supporters will support Hillary and I am sure I can go to other message boards and find the same thing with Hillary supporters.

History is being made. The past way of voting has been changed in this election because of Obama. The Dems are only in trouble if they steal the nomination from Obama.
The youth and black vote has been energized and will continue to be energized as long as Obama is in the race.

I respectfully disagree with your assumption, given the turnout in the primary elections. The Youth and Black vote count in the recent primaries disprove your statement. They did turn out and cast their vote. Keep in mind Obama has the following of this new crop of voters, not Hillary or McCain. In addition to the Youth and Black voters, Obama has made inroads to the Traditional voters.
If Hillary gets the nomination, the Youth and Black voters may feel less less incline to show up in November. Most of the Excitement concerning this primary race and the subsequent General Election is due to Obama.

I hear what you guys are saying and I agree that he brought out the youth and black vote in the primary season. Thats one time, will it continue? I am looking at historic trends. Its good to see others on this board vote for the first time, I hope they continue.
