Incoming freshmen don't hurt APR....they don't hurt you until they can accept money once eligible and then flunk out or leave..that didn't hurt Pete..you know that

What hurt Pete is the emergence of the Texas schools and the same formula that people praised him for in the 90s, which is waiting on props, began to backfire as closed admissions kept the props from enrolling

Yes it did hurt Pete. Katrina also hurt him. The Texas schools only won one championship since the 60's  stop kidding yourself.

That was really big for recruiting. :)

Houston received all of those folks that evacuated from the Superdome and convention center, which was only 5 percent of people that evacuated from N.O. and of course a few others. I believe BR was the largest recipients of folks that evacuated due to Katrina.

I don't know the percentages of who went where, but there is a helluva lot of 'em in Atl. Especially the southside. My hate for the Saints has gone up exponentially in the past few years.:mad::lol::lol:

They already had a high murder rate in Houston. He had to blame it on somebody.:emlaugh:.
No it was them NO cats. They took over H-Town and Atl. HTown got the knuckle heads though. I remember TI and Bun B pleading with them about all of the killing that was going on. Once they figured out them folks didn't have a 60 rule like NO, the got the he'll out of dodge.

There are a lot in the East also. But to be honest with you, there was already a bunch in the East before Katrina. :emlaugh: I'd go to the stores or Hairston's prior to Katrina and would pretty frequently run into folks from NOLA.

Those N.O. cats were targeting rappers in ATL big time. Word got to T.I. that they were gunning for him, so he went and loaded up...hence the jail time.

I know this is a bit off topic, but what gets me is how in the heck wouldn't the neighboring cities or parishes that weren't flooded out, why didn't they at least try to help assist with the elderly folks who were passing out and dying in New Orleans. Those folks blocked the damn bridge in the same state and wouldn't let starving Louisiana citizens in to get assistance.:smh:
I've never seen anything like that in my life. Now that's what should've been investigated, along with FEMA's intentional goofups.

What neighboring counties are you talking about?

2005 was already a bad summer in Houston for crime before August 31st. I don't know if it was the heat or what, but it was pretty bad. Then when the N.O. thugs came trying to set up shop in the H, it got very very testy.

Some N.O. folks were committing murders, but there was a lot of selective reporing by the media. They began to lump all murders committed by or AGAINST evacuees into the same pile. It would be "There have been 25 murders involving evacuees over the past 6 months". Then you see the breakdown and 15 of them would be evacuees being killed by local gang members.
