Whats up dude,

You were saying that Reeshard was going to do what....
And you were saying that Hayes is going to do what
And you were saying that you have the best WR core...
And you were saying that our offense has to adjust the new WRs..
And you were saying that Kent cant do what...........

I guess we have to come back to this conversation since the moderator has seen fit to delete the thread against YT.

(Picking it up again)

Richard will do what he has to give us a chance to win.

Hayes is going to come back. He might be himself again, which will be hell for you, or he might lose a step, which still might be hell for short DB's.

We will have the MOST EXPERIENCED WR corp in the SWAC this year, not necessarily the best.

Your whole offense will have to adjust to the newcomers within the offense, just like anybody else.

Kent can't win SWAC Championships, yet.

Are we back to point now?

LOL @ GR and SU Jag 79.

Hey GR, so exactly why do you think JSU will finally win the SWAC in 02?

Can you explain your almost 6 year drought when you have field several of the most talented teams in SWAC history?

Will Hughes lose his jockwash title this year?

Will Hughes be fired if he doesn't win the SWAC?

Will Kent forgo his Sr. season and go pro after not winning a SWAC title this year?

Will you apply for JSU AD's job if Culberson is hired as SWAC commish? Or better yet, will you apply for Hughes job once he is fired at the end of the season?

Hey 79

What the hell good is an experience WR core, if they dont catch the damn ball? All of you WRs suck and you know it. Our Adjustments(as you call them) are minor and insignificant and again, you know it.

And why are you guys so worried about if JSU is going to fire Hughes or not?

Let me play lawyer for Hughes.

Hughes came into the 2000 season after losing the best WR QB and RB in school history. He lost 4 defensive linemen, 3 DBs, and 3 LBs. Yet he still managed to pull of a 7-4 season and defeated Pete. Of course that wasnt good enough for JSU fans because we still felt the team he returned with one CB on defense should have won the SWAC. BTW he played a freshman QB for most of the season.

Pete on the other hand returned all of his skilled players from a championship squad but only managed to go 6-5. He had the same QBs and of course those experienced WRs, yet his team looked and played like garbage.

Hughes failed to pay attention to details and didnt improve his kicking game in 2001 like he should have. It costs him 3 games. he also suffered from a depleted Oline. Yet he still managed a 7-4 record against a decent schedule. BTW he beat Pete again.

Pete on the other hand managed to still not get a decent QB on campus. He couldnt find a RB and even resorted to fishing in the jailhouse for not one, but two criminals to run the ball for him. A real sign of desparation.

Let us not forget that Hughes has a better record than Pete over the last 2 years without his AD lining up patsy victories like MoB. At the same time, Hughes has managed to build his team by continuing to do an excellent job recruting. JSU is looking forward to this year and next and 2 of the greatest teams in JSU history. While Pete on the other hand is not only rebuilding this year, but will undergo a massive rebuilding effort next year.

Are we gone to ask for Hughes head if he doesnt win this year? The answer is yes. But I know the SU folks already have a built in excuse for Pete...its an even year.

Pardon the interruption......

Get Ready,

DON'T YOU EVER USE THE NAME OF COACH PETE RICHARDSON and hughes in the same thread ever again. COACH RICHARDSON HAS WON 5 SWAC TITLES to your man's zero, and after this season your man probably won't get a chance at another one because you are going to fire him.

Carry on........................

You don't believe the first underlined part yourself, but even if you do, what can an Experienced WR corp do? While you will find out, I know they can keep my QB from throwing 21 interceptions.

The second underlined part .... you need to let this go. I think you were alive in 1998. Who won the SWAC Championship that year GR?

You just don't want to think that while you were living in one of Kent's cracks, Pete has done the same thing that Hughes has when it comes to recruiting. Everything you said up there is pure opinion when it comes to what your team will look like for the next few years. With all the talent you guys have had since 1996 and the lack thereof that you stated we had during that time, why did we win three SWAC titles and Jackson State got ZERO?

Hint: It's never been all about talent here. It's been about one goal, one team, one title. It's going to happen again GR.

First of all Jag War....Richarson has won 4 SWAC titles. I really dont blame you for not knowing the actual truth. You are speaking real Southernese exaggerating your minimal accomplishments. You really cant be blamed for it. 79 saw your post and didnt correct you simply because he believes Pete has 5 titles too. Lemme breadk it down for you....93 97 98 99. I know you wont believe the facts even after this.....but Oh Well

dude...."its an even year" is yalls built in excuse....not mine.

Pure opinion? Isnt everything we say pure opinion based on fact? We are going to be good this year and next, while SU is simply going to struggle.

You asked me what Hughes has done and I told you. I guess you couldnt stand it since you went back to 96 with your analysis. I fail to see what Hughes has to do with that. The fact is that Hughes has done better than Pete as head coach over the past 2 years without the sissy schedule while maintaining JSUs talent level without depending on some washout transfer and staying out of the jailhouse for players. Thats all Im saying.

My question to you is, is SU going to fire Pete after another mediocre year with a depleted untalented team, facing an even worse season next year? Let me answer this question for you................NO. Why????????? Because he has won 5 SWAC titles. Right?

This is sad.

Pardon the interruption....

THANKS GR,

You just made my point for me. Whenever Pete beats your team we win a CHAMPIONSHIP, and whenever hughes beats the JAGS he saves his job. Go figure.

Carry on........

Face it GR

Your football program is in DK. You guys total season is made by a victory over your SUperior but you cant close the deal by winning a championship. S.U. on the other hand has won 3 out of the last 5 SWAC titles. Coach Rich went 3 of those years without a SWAC loss. It is total myopia to use Jacque Wash in the same sentence as Pete. You guys really need to focus on Bama St. because they are really bringing out the Buffalo in your program. I for one hope you all never replace Jacque. Your program will continue to be one less headache. I can understand your contempt for The Dean of all SWAC coaches. That double whammy that your SUperior administered in 1999 is a hard wound to heal. Pete has not fooled S.U. are GR and JSU. Hence, you can stop the asinine campaign because no one is going for the "okedoke." I know it is a tough pill to swallow, but your SUperior is large and in charge.

BTW,

Since your are so astute in math, would you count how many commisioner cups your SUperior has the last 10 years and include "the rest" of the conferences tally. Dont bet bogged down in little details like the connotation of the award; depicting the SUperior athletic program in the.......

S.outhern
W.ins
A.nother
C.hampionship

After doing this type of research, a light bulb may be turned on. And, Jacksoneese tongue will be eradicated; you will truly understand why you are JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY and we are your SUperior!!!

Okay GR, I'll bite here. Hughes is the better coach.

However, how can that be truthful and logical? In 2000, we had talent coming off the 1999 championship season, right? A few coaching mistakes and some injuries messed over us that year and we ended 6-5 and beat both participants in the SCG.

Following me so far. Hughes, on the other hand, had superior talent like Taylor, Story, McLaurin, and some studs on defense. He was able to defeat us 13-10. He said he was SO happy to finally beat Southern because (quote) HE was tired of feeling like Southern's stepchild. However, with the talent he had and everything else, why did Alabama A&M make it to Birmingham instead of the super-talented Tigers? Y'all finished 7-4, right?

Move the last season. Southern loses some talent at running back and Hayes goes down early. Defense has some studs back there with Chapman, L. Williams, and Landry, but the newness of co defensive coordinators and shoddy game-plans does them in along with a ineffective running game. However, Coach Richardson patches together a group that while shamed in Tulane and Northwestern St. defeats, regroups to finish the season on a 7-2 roll, defeating the eventual Eastern Division champs (32-9) and just losing to the Western Division Champs (30-20). Of course, Jackson State and Hughes get another one that, frankly, our coahing staff gives away in bad management techniques (21-24).

However, in Jackson last year, the receiving core returns, but with a new, and your opinion, better leader in the QB slot. The defense returns a lot too, but the focus seems to be on offense. Your defense finishes last in the league and your QB throws 21 interceptions for lack of a running game and total dependence on the youngster Kent. Hughes has the horses, but once again, he finishes 7-4 with losses to (ECC) Alabama State, Tennessee State, (SWAC) Grambling, and North Carolina A&T. There were no huge losses before last season like this season for JSU, sans the previous QB (Washington?) and maybe a few others?

So, in conclusion, Hughes had enormously better talent in 2001 and finished with the same record as Richardson.

The only thing you are basing your point on seems to be what each did against each other. Otherwise, your whole point of Hughes being better has no merit man.

JrOCK

Youre too irrational for me to talk with.....sorry, just cant do it. Even though 79 has unthought out logic, he is much more pleasant to talk to. Sorry kid

Why dont you start a post about how great Hayes would be if he were playing for Nebraska?

Are you sure you and Dtown arent the same person?

79

I never said the Hughes was better than Pete.
The truth is neither one of them is better than the coordinators they hire. My point is that Pete is not the wiz kid SU folks make him out to be. To be honest I have seen him do some of the dumbest things imaginable for a head coach. Hughes has done a good job getting talent in here to make himself look good this year and next, while you guys will be rebuilding for a long time.

I like the way you used the words "bad management techniques." You must have been taking one of those creative writing classes with bornthilla.

Now tell me......How long you do you think it will take our offense to adjust to our new WRs? You know, the ones that Kent hasnt been throwing to for the last 2 years.

Rent Ready

How old are you? I doubt very seriously if you are older than I am and without a doubt not smarter. Your arse was served very rational questions. And, just like a little brat you did not answer the questions. You are the "KID" that is to childish to admit Jsue has an inferior athletic program. Further, it is simply juvenile to not acknowledge that your football team has "issues" that further exemplifies the state of DK. Your sorry program was lambasted for over 60 points twice last year and is a total embarassment to the SWAC. Your sorry school has lost 13 playoff games and has brought more shame to the conference than any other member. Just how in the hell can you loose 13 years of playoff games? Answer the damn question and act like you dont have the IQ of a first grader with a Jsue degree. Dont "punk" out like a little snotty nose kid, give me that listing of commissioner cup winners the last 10 years. Your team will forever be known as Buffalo; the sharecropping college that plays under the confederate flag. Let me give you an elementary assignment. Find out why Dwight Mann counts your attendance KID.

Now tell me......How long you do you think it will take our offense to adjust to our new WRs? You know, the ones that Kent hasnt been throwing to for the last 2 years

I'll say four games, seriously. BTW, I didn't say he wasn't familiar with them either. Still, as you would agree, practice and actual game play are two different things.

So since Reeshard doesnt have any game experience, does your logic apply to him too. He only really played in the BC after Doug lost his mind and tried to run the clock out and started playing a prevent defense in the second quarter.

Since it is going to take our WRs 4 games to adjust, how long is it going to take your QB to adjust to actual game experience. REmember, he has been carrying a clip board for 3 or 4 years now.

Actually, Richard played in four games last year. He played the last quarter against Tulane, saw time against Mississippi Valley after Levy was hurt, saw the majority of the time against Prairie View and started against Grambling. But, I'll give him 4 games too to really be in tune with his offense. That's why our running game has to improve greatly over last year.

So you are saying that he played in a lot of garbage time games last year. And you think that makes him ready? So is he going to be ready for the JSU game (4th game), or will he be ready after that game is over? Which is it.

Oh BTW....Jones, Manning, and Jacobs played in every game last year. So do you think they will still have to adjust?

Garbage time huh? Maybe the first two, but certianly not the last two. Yes, I do think that makes him ready. Didn't Kent play in a "few" games after TC was pushed to WR? He will be ready for J-State, don't worry.

Oh yeah, those three. Yeah, they played in each game and did what, other than Manning? (quietly) nothing. Our receivers played in every game except for Hayes. BTW, Hayes and Richard played together at Opelousas High so they know each other (get that out of your head now) .... and yes, they will have to adjust. They were behind people last year. The pressure was not on them. It was on Taylor, Story, and Goss.

Ok man,

First of all. losing Goss from the offense is veeeery insignificant. Chris Jones should have started last year, played a lot, and will do well off the bat. We have gone thru this enough. You are reaching for straws...insignificant straws at that.

Our offense will be fine...no problems there. Either you can run the route or you cant. Either you can throw the ball or you cant. Either you can catch the ball or you cant. And you figure all of that stuff out in practice.

This year you really need to worry about Counslor or whatever running back we throw back there this year. We literally have 6 that would start for any other team. Counslor, Lee, McLaurin, Nolan, Cox, Sanders. Dude, we are thicker than Beyonce Knowle's thighs.

You need to worry about our defense. You need to worry about our defensive line. You need to worry about our linebackers.....you need to worry about the pain we are going to put on you. You will be shut down, as usual.

You dont have the athletes to do any damage on us. Your QB is probably the worst in the league and its going to take time for him to get ready if ever. There is a reason he didnt get any playing time during the past 3 years. HE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Pardon the interruption.......

Let's get our facts straight! Richard was on his way to being red-shirted in 1999 while playing behind Williams and Levy when he had to come in one series to spell Levy in the Bayou Classic. You remember that year don't you, Williams and Levy took turns exploiting your pitiful defense. The following year 2000 he was red-shirted because of an ailing knee injury. Last season Orlando who I have disaggreed with on several occassions went with Fisher instead of Richard. Fisher struggled and Richard took over. Richard looked good against an improved PVU team. I know it was PVU, but that was really his first test under pressure.

You seem to be OBSESSED with your quarterback that has won zero championships and ours that has a championship ring. Are we to believe that your pitiful defense that gave up 60 big ones last has seen the error of their ways and become a Steel Curtain just because you say so?

The mighty JAGS have taken on the best you've had to offer. 1999 was your best team to date. Did Destry Wright, Sly Morris, or Rashard Anderson make any difference to us?

You just don't realize what's about to happen to you on Sept 21. I'll wake you up when it's over with.

Carry on..............
