Ocean Of Soul Vs. "World Famed"

I am not going to sit here and take that.....................GSU and TxSU both did a good job. And to be real, TxSU House came from the Fat Guys that came out, and the Band ripple push up. GSU Got house on their whole breakdown. Yes TxSU is powerful, but GSU was more Musical. you guys didn't take all of the high school recruits, thats a down right lie.

GSU was NOT more musical . I reviewd the tapes and TxSU got house on the following

Drummajor ENtrance
Majorette sequence
Dance Break Down THroughout.
Marching off

GSU did not get as much House as TxSU

True Both bands did their thing . BUt be real . TxSU had the more entertaining show hands down.

IN the stands GSU obviously didn;t knwo their music in a lot of songs.

The songs they knew sounded decent but not necessarily musical. They(GSU) were just loud with the exception of the slow tunes which were good. TxSU sounded Good on everything they played.

The alumni tuba section really put on a clinic in the 3rd quarter. If you did not get a chance to hear them those cats, you really missed a treat. In fact the alumni drummers did a outstanding job as well. I really enjoyed listening to those cats play. It two them a song or two to get in sync but after that. They were on point and very clean.

Your alumni Band was great. It's good to see fellow Alumni representing and showing the yougins what's up.

Correction: They ran off the field.

dude don't sit on here like txsu was just perfect, the tempo problems came when gsu was playing stars and stripes and txsu started playing while gsu was playing, on here like txsu is the truth, they sound good and problaby is the best texas southern band that i have seen in a while but they didn't do any damage to grambling. when fans from su and other universites commend grambling i know gsu did well, stop hating and suck it up it's not that crucial.

I think both bands were okay. I enjoyed GSU's show. They showed a lot of improvement!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Ocean, I really enjoyed the gimmick with the two fat boys running around shaking their bellies. The snake brought back some old "School Daze" memories as well.

I never said gram sucked . I just stated they didn't sound better . AndTxSU did not play on stars and stripes

First off, hey NastyNupe, where did you get that pic of the Southern guy bustin his ***** on the field?

Second, I am honestly not a trash talker. Most of my posts are informational such as the clarinet and saxophone thread, but I need to speak my mind on this. I have to agree with dominion. We did get more house at halftime. We did march off the field to the 227 theme song. After we got through, we ran off. We just never fully march from the field to the steps or stands. So, just to define what dominion said, marching off to us is marching to the edge of the field. And the GSU breakdown of old skool songs only got a handful of people that were sitting in the middle of the stands. We got the whole thang. And to even put the word out, an alumni of Grambling came to the restaurant we were eating at and told us that grambling could have done a better job. I have a homeboy to co-sign on that, and he is from Louisiana and he heard it. That's all I have to say.:smash:

First of all, the alumni will always have something to say, b/c they want the band to be better. so that stuff dont phase the band b/c we heard that from them all week. GSU Did Get house! we dont need a fat guy to get house. Again like i said TxSU and GSU was Good, but TxSU didn't blow GSU out!!!!!!
And that is all i have to say!

One thing about what you said about the alumni. They wouldn't say, and I quote, "You guys could show Grambling a thing or two", for nothing. We pulled more crowd than Grambling. Now at the beginning of the game, yes, you did get house playing a few old skool rap songs. After that, it wasn't much to say. It wasn't a total blowout, but we had more of a selection, more control, and the like. You can't turn around your alumni saying we did better than y'all for saying that is something they said to improve your band. Just take it and learn from it, PERIOD!!! Y'all were better last year in my opinion, tho.

SO WHAT!!!!! If you want to talk about comments, why did we recieve 3 emails from TxSU alumni, saying that we did a great job on our halftime show, and that it was better that TxSU. Just Face it, People is always going to hate on GSU. We got house on our drill, when we did GSU and MM. (RIP)
House for our old school songs, and dancers, and breakdown. Just worry about the last games you have. GSU has bigger things to do like Bayou classic and .................................SWAC SCG.

OKAY I'M GOING TO FINISH ALL OF THIS FIRST OF ALL TXSU DIDNT GET HOUSE THE ONLY REASON WHY GSU CROWD CHEERED FOR TSXU WAS BECAUSE TXSU ANNOUNCER IS A KISS ***** HE JUST KEPT SAYING "IF YOU LOVE GSU STAND TO YOUR FEET, AND GIVE A CHEER" AND " CONGRATS ON A 100 YRS OF EXCELLENCE ETC." SO NO ONE WAS CHEERING FOR TXSU BUT WE WHERE CHEERING FOR OUR UNIVERSITY. SECOND AS EVERYONE KNOWS GIMMICKS GETS YOU SOME HOUSE J-STATE KNOWS THIS WELL, TXSU BROUGHT OUT SOM KRUNK BIG GUYS, WHO WOULDNT CHEER FOR THAT ISH WAS FUNNY AS HELL.

SO PRETTY MUCH TXSU HAD A GOOD SHOW BUT GSU SHOW WAS BETTER. GRAM ACTUALLY DID A DRILL TXSU DID HAVE A DRILL AND GRAM DID WHAT THEY DO BEST GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT.

NOW IN THE STAND BOTH SCHOOL DID A GREAT JOB, THE EDGE GOES TO TXSU, BOTH SCHOOLS HAVE A GOOD BOOK THIS YEAR. THIS IS JUST ONE OF TXSU BETTER YEARS SO I SAY GOOD JOB TO TXSU ON THAT. GRAM HAS COME A LONG WAY IS DALLAS/PV GAME SO CONGRATS TO THEM ON THAT BOTH SCHOOLS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

P.S. I THINK TXSU WOULD HAVE GAVE SU HELL THIS.

GSU, just take the "L" and move on. You weren't the first nor will you be the last victim of the "Ocean" :ebrow:

But GSU did an outstanding job as always

World Famed Drumline? Better than us? Please. Sit yo ***** down with that biased small talk. We could run all of our old school cadences and beat them. All of they bottom parts sounded the same, the snares had HORRIBLE tuning, and Cymbals had no technique. I was really ashamed at the cymbals, seeing how we battled a Louisiana Cymbal Line and they looked like they twirl for Clark Atlanta or Fam U. They Tenors was on the job, though.

I don't know if that's a good idea but, I will confirm that they exists.

Not tryin to be funny but Facts are Facts if it can be proved that something like this took place than why not put it out there?

:smh: I'm sorry but, normally I would eat your arse up for making statements like that. Statements like that are an act of war. However,....I have grown too tired to fight and I have to choose my battles more carefully.
Having said that,...let me only say that you have a right to your opinion. I don't have to agree with it.

Son please if you are from another school such as TSU this is expected..... Even if I did not agree with the performance you are telling a BOLD FACE LIE about not being able to hear themmm...... In a nutshell if you could not hear them then you need to get your ears checked..... My grandmother is 80 and she heard them so PLEASE!!!!!!!
