O.K. Tuskegee, Here's Your Big Chance

I'm just letting you know that under Dickerson there wasn't any real coaching. Cole just inherited a defense that was handed to him from Dickerson. It wasn't Coles' fault. Dickerson was so bad at coaching that women would call the plays from the stand. And for the minus rushing yards, you and I both know that ASU is a throwing team and don't rush that much. Tuskegee is playing "Edward Waters" College this Saturday. No wonder Tuskegee is playing above .500 every year.

It is lame at best to think skegee is any thing more than a bottom feeder in HBCU'S top ten.

Hornetswarm,

Stop making excuses for why we beat you. Yeah we're playing Edward Waters, but we also play some tough teams every year. We've beaten Winston Salem, a good team already and Morris Brown, a team with more scholarships than us. You guys act like you play tough teams every week. Please stop. Especially with your schedule. You act like you play NFL teams and we play High school teams. Give me a break. We've been above .500 for the last few years because we win games, period. Including wins over you. Stop with the Ron Dickerson excuses.

This entire post us just flat out sad...how can Bama St. try and say TU is sced to play anyone after they pummeled your arses last year. Plus the team you are speaking of, drubbed your arses too. You are the last people on earth who should be trying to question TU's heart. The rest of us can speculate and predict what would have happened if we had played them...but you had your chance and you embarASSed the entire SWAC. So basically you gets no love trying to bash TU for not playing Troy and for who they do play.

And please stop with all the Dickerson hating. I guess you blame Ron for your wins too, because that was his offense that he "left" for Coles too wasn't it? Your excuses are some of the saddest I have seen on this baord..and I have seen some sad excuses for loosing. But blaming the past coach..."but only for the defense"...is really pitiful.

But continue on........

How ASUers Gone Play TU? sincerly, "better late than never".

ooooh myyyyyyyy,,,,,,,,, spectator Skegee coming under fire here? welp, no problemo Shelt, TU,,,,,,,, we got em outnumbered 3 to 40 or 60 something.

maaaaaaaan,,, what up wit the pearl harbor attack on Skegee, AState??????? I would think from the early results of your season you got more pressing issues than who Tuskegee should play to worry about.

i'm sending this thread to tuskegee's A. D. and SU's A.D. i'm tried of talking the talk let's walk the walk..period.

Hey Tuskegee,

You are the defending HBCU champion by someone's poll. I agree that you should honor your conference obligations. A true champion takes on ALL comers. Don't come here with logic as a reason not to play a team.

There needs to be a legitimate HBCU poll. Going undefeated playing a soft schedule does not make you a champion(Who made them HBCU champions anyway? What kind of formula did they use??).

Again I will say that the 71-0 whipping that you put on "Edward Waters" must have made you feel real proud to stay above .500. And "SUGE" Tuskegee didn't "pummeled" ASU last year. You won by one point. A missed field goal kept us from winning the game.

Hornetswarm,

If you are referring to the last field goal you attempted, it was not missed, but blocked. You know your kicker was not even going to make it anyway- more than 50 yards. Speaking of soft schedules, Alabama State is the only 1AA football program in America who has placed three Division 2 teams (Clark Atlanta, Johnson C. Smith and Tuskegee) on its schedule. Don't worry about TU, we have been able to handle the Hornets since we beat them in their first football game, 37-0 in 1901. Just in case you do not know, we have fumigated the hornets four out of the last 5 years as a d2 program and we lead the overall series, 52-31-4, including a couple of 85-0 thrashings. With the perennial weak sisters that ASU had already on its schedule, what a power puff schedule these Hornets have for 2001. If you were going to play any additional d2 teams, it should have been Fort Valley State, Virginia Union, Morehouse, Winston-Salem State, Delta State, Valdosta State or West Georgia, etc. Furthermore, add some additional 1AA teams (Jacksonville State, Sanford, West Illinois, Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman, Hampton or North Carolina A&T. Does warm blooded Cole (0-2) need victories so badly until he will take advantage of some the weak d2 programs? TU will keep on winning and will be crowned HBCU national champions again in 2001, because you all know that Grambling State has a habit of freezing up when they play Southern. The mere fact that we were crowned HBCU national champions in 2000 says a lot about the status of 1AA HBCU football. 23 of 32 pollsters voted TU #1 in 2000. Remember ASU, Alcorn State has won one game since 1999 and that victory was against the Hornets of Alabama State. If you would compare the strength our d2 schedule and the strength of your 1AA schedule, you will find that our schedule is more competitive when you look at the allocation of scholarships (63-36) and classifications. We are not playing any teams who are listed below our classification, except for EWC. We gave EWC a game because the first year coach is a 1991 graduate of TU. We have not lost to any team, regardless of classification since 1999. Lastly, TU just didn't start winning, it has been going on since 1894. 536 victories and counting.... Southern University is the only team that I can recall that we do not have a victory over (10 or more meetings). ASU, if you have problems with TU on the field now, with their 36 scholarships, what do you think it would be like when and if they move to 1AA with 63 scholarships?

Suge,

Who do you blame for those EIGHT AZZ KICKINGS IN A ROW that Southern put on Grambling?

Stay yo lame azz out of this!
