My mom and I voted this past Friday, Oct. 29th. My Goodness when we got to the polling place and walked in...:eek2: The line was wrapped around to place. I saw folks that I graduated high school with waiting in line to vote. I must say it made me proud to see so many folks come out to vote. So all in all my experience wasn't to bad except that the air conditioner was broken do it was warm in the place. I was in line front of a friend of mine so we talked for most of the time which made to wait no seem so long.

Just came back from voting. The lines were longer than usual at my voting place. Hope it's a sign of a big voter turnout and keeps Bush at Crawford or anywhere but the White House.

I did my civic duty this morning. I was told it was crowded at my poling place early on, but by 7:15 when I got there it had thinned out. The crowd started to pick up by the time I was leaving.

Of course I voted today!

But I'm so sick of these brothas and sistas using their religion as a means of not voting. :splat: I try to respect what one believes in, but that I cannot tolerate. Am I the only one?

:topic: No, you are not the only one. How many votes are lost because of it (count the # of Jehovah's Witnesses, shall we?) Hope I didn't offend anybody by this, but this bothers me alot...

I voted at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist church family life center. Took about 3 minutes. Go, Kerry!!!!!

Stood in line for 70 minutes this morning, but would have stood for three hours if necessary. That shrub in Washington has got to be pruned! His @ss gotta go!!

I recently gotten a GA driver's license two months ago and they asked me if I wanted to register to vote. I told them yes. Needless to say, my name was not on list. I voted, but I had to do the provisional ballot. I have to put it is out that the Houston County, GA Department of Motor Vehicles is the most incompetent department I ever had to deal with. This is the second time I had problems with them.

Anyway, I voted Bush and Denise Majette for the Senate.

The same thing happened to me. I "thought" i registered at the DMV when they asked me if wanted to register and I replied yes. In September I checked GA's website and saw that I wasn't registered. Then I registered by mail and by Oct 1st I still wasn't registered. I registered a 3rd time on Oct 1st and that time it went through. I jokingly said it was a conspiracy because my name is Shamieka, but ya never know.

My wife is a JW and I told her that if all black folks were Witnesses we would still be living with Jim Crow. I told her that the white folks who started the JW have/had there freedom, so it was nothing for them. I also told her to remember that the Black Church was one of the main reasons she has the right to vote today. She voted this time :hat:

Stood in line two hours this morning with my 18 yr old daughter. She voted for the first time this morning. :)

Yeah, I realize I was not the only one, but I didn't know it happen in others counties. I don't expect to be living here in four years so I know what to do the next time.
