North Alabama looking for FCS home

ok, i guess i'll be the first and bring it up.

just thinking, what would be the benefits(or pitfalls) of inviting UNA to the SWAC? They're right in our region and growing. Also, some of their university's statistics go in line with some our schools. plus they'll bring something new to the conference and wider blueprint.

One of the very well funded D2 schools, would not take them long to compete, especially in Football!

That is the major question. Would they bring us something that AAMU and Alabama State don't already bring to the conference?

Well there are other conference with even more unis from the same state, check out Tenn in OVC. 4 unis practically down the street from each other. also, they'll bring a different game play to the SWAC that has been done in MANY years. just gives another opportunity to expand the SWAC brand.

nothing.....they showed their true colors early and want to go SoCon, OVC, etc....
i wouldn't mind making three figures but i'm happy where i'm at. they brought up those conferences because of the old rivalries from back in the day, not so much of "their true colors". if SWAC did invite and they accepted, they might stay around about 4 years to keep stacking money to move on to a conference that is participating in the playoffs because they seem to be about growing their program to the best option in sports.

UNA would never consider coming to the SWAC....their fans would be against it

The SWAC has nothing that they want....i mean we dont play for nothing but a SWAC title schools like those want to play for National championships not conference titles....

UNA like to participate in the playoffs.
That knocks us out the "invite" box.

Aye man, I remember back in the cut, them ole UNA chicks use to get down for theirs if you went to A&M. Man ole man, we use to ride out there to Florence on the weekends.......... Like ole Johnnie Taylor say, "If I could turn back the hands of time".......

Scared. :smh:

What do the SWAC have to offer a team that wants and is used to competing for National Championships. And please don't tell me we play in front of 500,000 fans.

UNA joining the SWAC would be as likely as Delta State joining the SWAC, and we all know in Mississippi, Delta State would never join the SWAC because they love playing for and winning National Championships.
