With training camps opening in just a few days, I thought it would be a good idea to release my preseason power rankings for the 2010 season. Last year was fun for the 16 weeks I posted the regular season rankings. This is just the Top 10. Doing all 30 some odd teams takes too much time. Plus, we all know the Rams and Raiders are going to be bad again.

1. New Orleans Saints
2. Green Bay Packers
3. Dallas Cowboys
4. Indianapolis Colts
5. New York Jets
6. Minnesota Vikings (I'm assuming Favre will play)
7. San Diego Chargers
8. Baltimore Ravens
9. New England Patriots
10. Atlanta Falcons

Everyone has to do a surprise Super Bowl pick. From the AFC I have the Dolphins, and from the NFC I have the Washington Redskins.

There you go. Let the arguing begin.

Those are mine. I took your list kendrick but took out Baltimore and put in Miami.

Yeah, I thought about Miami being in the Top 10. Peter King had those cats No. 6 in his preseason rankings. Surprisingly, the Panthers were ranked No. 8.

Colts are the best. The others are not so I'll give them a boo. I have been cheering for the Colts years now. They are really great.

Da hell? These dudes were 8-8 last year, with no significant additions. Plus, they're tied with the Texans for toughest schedule

They finished the regular season stronger than any team in the league after starting 0-6. If Vince Young played earlier in the season, the Titans might have made the playoffs. Tennessee has the best running back in the league in the person of Chris Johnson, and Young seems to be coming around back to his old form. So you never know. During the season the bottom five teams in the Top 10 will change around a bunch.

You never know...but, I don't see anything that says "Tenn Top 10". Too many "what if's" coming off a 8-8 season for me.

The New Orleans Saints finished the 2008 season 8-8 and won the Super Bowl in 2009. The 2007 Cardinals finished 8-8 only to reach the Super Bowl the following season. You are a smart guy. You know there have been teams with far worse records than. 500 not only make the playoffs the following season, but win the Super Bowl. This is a Titans team that did start 2008 10-0. And a lot of guys from that squad are still on this year's team.

With what they've already lost (offseason)...Im not buying THIS Titans team as a top 10, just because other organizations did it. Those teams you named stayed intact the next year. The Titans have already lost key defensive players and on the OLine (so, they ain't HARDLY the same team as 2008) Plus, not to mention, you need to look at the QB's of both the Cards and the Saints. VY ain't HARDLY as effective in the pocket, which is where you need to be strong at. It's quite possibly his greatest weakness.

Sorry...an 8-8 record and a whim doesn't do it for me. And, calling them Top 10, right now, is a whim.

Well, for some reason the Titans seem to rally around Vince Young although he might not be a perennial Pro Bowl quarterback. I understand that the Titans have lost some guys in the last few years, but Jeff Fisher teams have historically played well the following year after a subpar season.

With the exception of Colts and Patriots, every team ranked in whose ever version of the power rankings are placed there on a whim. I have seen power rankings where teams like the Panthers and Dolphins are in the Top 10. I have seen others where the Eagles, without McNabb for the first time in 11 years, are in the Top 10.

I considered placing the Texans or the Bears in the Top 10. However, how many years have NFL analysts said "Oh, this is the year for Houston to finally make a run?" It hasn't happened yet. The Bears would be one of those surprise teams, considering they added Julius Peppers, Chester Taylor and Chris Harris. Not to mention the offense got a boost with the hire of Mike Martz to be its O.C. Urlacher is back healthy on defense along with Tommie Harris and Pisa Tinoisamoa. But you have to ask yourself do you trust Jay Cutler to bounce back from a disappointing 2009 season? The Bears could be either 12-4 or 7-9.

Pittsburgh would have been the ideal team to place in that No. 10 spot, but Big Ben is not going to play for the first four weeks of the regular season.

You have your decent reasoning. It's not totally ludicrisP (lol) like you can get sometimes...but, it is what it is.

That's cuz those du'masses are always looking for a glamour story, and they just want to head it off at the pass....lol. Last year was the first realistic look at the playoffs. Those other years everyone was just looking to jump on the bandwagon of the longest shot....lol

That's cool..cuz, those guys that tried to jump on too early are the ones who left. Good. I wanna wear the underdog tag for as long as possible.

BTW....neither the Texans nor the Bears need to be Top 10 coming out of the gates.
