Never admit your mistakes......

Please believe folks were watching Chris in college. His rep came during his senior year when he had almost 3,000 yards all purpose. Conference USA or not that's impressive.Again he torched the same Boise St defense that held AP to about 80 yards. If nobody was watching he wouldn't have been a 1st round pick.

I'll agree, for the most part. Now, that I think about it...he did kick it up to, atleast, being noticed by "some" on a national level. Cuz, now that I think about it, I remember those "why isn't he getting more pub?" type stories and interviews. But, he still didn't get as much as you're letting on, nationally, though. You can get picked in the 1st and not have games on..that ain't impossible. He was, basically, an afterthought til late Nov. when those crucial C-USA games were taking place.

But, still the point is....he East Carolina, C-USA....Felix, he SEC. So, of course, he's going to get more notoriety. Plus, he's a Razorback like Jerry Jones. Man, Jerry ain't admitting isht.

Yep. That's college football for ya. It is cool that Jerry looked out for a fellow alum.

They also passed up on Steven Jackson and chose Julius Jones in the 2004 draft.
Now this pissed me off royally. Only time I was more upset was passing on Moss. But when Parcells traded down with Jackson right there, I almost threw a brick through my TV.

As for C. Johnson, if he were a Cowboy, he wouldn't be nearly the player he is today. Jason Garrett wouldn't run the ball.

I wasn't in the Dallas war room back in 2004. But just looking at how the first-round played out, I think Dallas was wanting to make a play for Vince Wilfork who ended up being taken by the Patriots. He would have fit nicely into the Cowboys 3-4 defensive scheme. That is probably why Dallas traded into the second round.

As far as the 2008 NFL Draft goes, there was a few running backs Dallas could have taken. Rashard Mendenhall, Matt Forte, Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles or Tim Hightower.

But you can go through every draft of every team and wonder what would have happened X team drafted Y player. Or how could they not draft that guy or trade for this guy? And speaking of Moss, here are some of the guys drafted ahead of him in the 1998 draft. Charles Woodson, Takeo Spikes, Keith Brooking, Fred Taylor, Greg Ellis, Kyle Turley and Peyton Manning. All those cats were Pro Bowlers.

The NFL Draft is an inexact science.
