That's why he's coaching at valley for half the salary. There class looks decent but I'm not seeing what the hype is about. Maybe they'll have some guys show up in the fall. Comegys known for that.

Thank You...This is the realest post ever about Comegy! Great Recruiter but bonehead coaching moments...smh

But as you can see by his tenure at JSU, talent will take you only so far, unless you're just head and shoulders above everybody. Guys are happy to come play for him, but remember what happens when they make a mistake or have a bad game. Comegy and staff don't take the time to go over what you did wrong and teach you how to do it right. They put your ass on the bench and stick somebody else in there. Then recruit a "better" player and take your scholly.

Will Harold do any better?


i thought the talent level in the swac is pretty much even. from the top team to the bottom team

HELL NO!!!... Bama State had the most talented team last year by personnel but this is the swac where anything can happen, there have been teams that were loaded in terms of talent and some teams that have had mediocre talent.

well i'm sure you watch more swac games this past season that i have. The few games i watched on tv and from the looks of it. i cant really see a difference in the talent level. it looks even to me. The QB play on certain teams be a little better. Bad coaching is all over the swac not just a few teams.

coaching and talent are two diff things....... if you said the qb play is better, then those teams have a better qb which = better talent. I know the coaching is bad, sloppy play smh

bad coaching and average/decent talent s basically the SWAC. There is no team above one another. a lil edge at QB dont mean a team have better talent. *shrugs*

I think when swac coaches start putting more emphasis on discipline and fundamentals. you will see better games and better product on the field.
 
College football, and the NFL, is very QB driven. From the SWAC to the SEC to the league, having a solid QB makes a huge difference.

In college, a lot of people mistake a team having a lot of talent into coaching greatness. In college, most of the time the more talented team wins (unless they commit beaucoup turnovers, sloppy QB play, lack of execution, etc.).

Sometimes you have a great gameplan, but don't have the talent to properly execute and get you over the hump. There are also times where you have pretty much more talent, but gameplanning negates all of that.

However, as college coaches say, it's not the Xs and Os it's the Willies and the Joes that determine wins and losses

a great stella defense and average QB in the swac can win you multiple of swac championships.
