DGTM,
Any ideas yet on what offense that your OC will be running? I am pretty sure Comegy will give him complete control over offense.

whats wrong with me giving my opinion?

nothing, nothing at all. I just said it tells me all I need to know.

P.S. Pop I would venture to guess he would be running some of the same stuff he ran when he was here before, but I will wait to check them out when they start practice and see.

Nothing wrong with Valley being excited about the moves being made by the new coach, please put down the.......

Trust me, we are not hating on Valley.

Wow Valley! Rick made a DB from Tallahassee decommit from UAB? I also see that Valley now has 17 signees. Several of those kids had division I offers. One of those kids had the most division I offers in the SWAC.

Keep it up Delta Devils.

I been telling folks I expect us to play a LOT of freshmen next year. What they lack in experience they should make up for in talent. Just hoping they can pick up the offensive and defensive schemes quickly.

This pretty much sums us up next season. Can we pull a Southern and have this young talent carry us to a successful season (or at least an improvement in wins) should be our goal (Spring game was good plus all the HS and CC talent that has to get on campus)

The best part about the infusion of talent though is that even though we have holes and they will play, we have veteran experience and leadership at the key positions. We won't be counting on a freshman to come in and play quarterback, corner, or middle linebacker. That is definitely a positive. It is easier for freshmen to come in and play receiver, running back, and along the defensive line.

Very nice summary. I really think Valley's major concern is the offensive line. However, Comegy has a good offensive line coach and 7 new offensive lineman coming. They should have 12 on the roster to choose from.

JUCO lineman Lawrence Schuster was heading to Portland State, but flipped to play for Comegy. I just don't know how he does it! He brings in kids from everywhere to play for him. It was smart for him to go out a bring in a kid with 2 years of game experience on the college level during to begin his rebuilding journey. I am a fan of JUCO lineman because they bring experience and size to the table. 6'3 305 pound Schuster led a offensive line that averaged 185 rushing yards and 305 passing yards, and 38 points per game. From his clips, he seems to be a very good pass blocker. Anyway, another sneaky grab by Rick. We all know from what he did at Jackson and Tuskegee that he won't stop recruiting until the last hour to get classes.

Comegy is a HARD recruiter. If not for APR rules, I think he would have done some REAL damage at J-State..

The man is incredible. I just can't understand how he is getting these quality recruits to come to Itta Bena! I am not trying to downplay the Delta area, but I just didn't expect to see him enhanced this class over the summer like this and get these kids to come to the school. Valley has definitely moved up in the recruiting rankings. All of these late signees have given them one of the most impressive classes in the SWAC. Last season, Valley's class had a lot of kids who could help the depth chart, but this season, Comegy has brought in pure quality.

bruh I think many times we over analyze things. Recruiting at it's core is about building relationships. If a kid really likes a coach and really believes and sees that they have an opportunity for significant playing time at a D-1 school, then they can look past a lot of superficial, aesthetics. At the end of the day, most kids just want somebody to believe in them and give them the opportunity to ball out.

P.S. Oh yeah, it's some real talent headed to Itta Bena *Birdmane handrub*

Comegy is an excellent salesman, but once he gets the talent, he doesn't know how to develop that talent. So him getting all this supposed talent means not a damn thing in my eyes.

You are right about that. The last time anyone I knew from Valley was this excited about a class was in 2003. Those kids were forced to play early, but they ended up seeing some wins their junior and senior years.

I am not shocked at Comegy bringing a good class to Valley because the man knows how to go out and find talent. As much as my G-Men have slapped Jackson State around, I have always respected them as a talented team under Comegy. I follow Tuskegee football and know about the unclaimed beast that he found from all over the coast to go there. However, him landing DB/WR Javon O'Neil is extremely shocking.

Ben Lyda, Nelson Hale, Tarvis James, Theron Chapman and Justin Young are all names that I expect Valley and the SWAC to hear about as well.

Hahahahahahahaha....... I can't respect Comegy, he lost to Doug Williams. that's 2011 squad was one of the best in the nation and he allowed himself to be outcoached. WHO PUTS A FRESHMAN ON THE FIELD TO FIELD A PUNT IN A TIGHT GAME AGAINST A TEAM THAT HAS CONSTANTLY BEAT YOU?
