JR, they had a rough patch in the 90's fooling around with Curley Hallman from USM. They stuck with that clown way too long. When Bill Arnsparger decided to take over as AD at Florida in the 80's and Mike Archer taking over after, Arnsparger boys slowly left due to attrition, it was apparent Archer did not know what the hell he was doing. It went from bad to worse with Hallman. But overall the 60's and 70's were pretty good although the running joke in Louisiana was that Cholly Mac could not beat Bear Bryant, the 80's were pretty good for them and the 90's real bad and we know about the two national titles in the 2000's. Yea, those folks at LSU can get very contentious when they aren't doing well though. But to imply that LSU was constantly "miserable" prior to Saban is not true. The ten years prior yes (90's), those other decades No.
