Memphis IS in Trouble!!

How come when a team loses the easy answer is because they got out coached? Hell, Missouri was just better tonight.

Memphis got skull drug.
Simple as that.

They got a young team that won 33 games this year.
They will be back next year.

And if Evans leaves, which I think would be a mistake, they will sign the top PG in the country. Mephis will be right back in the Sweet 16 again.

As great a recruiter he is, Calipari has never struck me as an awesome coach. He has trouble when teams dictate tempo to him. Kansas played an up tempo game against him last year as well, although it wasn't to this extent. He had no clue how to slow the game down (which would have been easier to accomplish on the offensive end rather than on the defensive end). All he did was cuss at the refs.

Missouri won that game in first half when Memphis' players began to run out of gas. When that kid for Memphis missed that dunk near the end of half, I thought to myself that it was a 'fatigue' miss.

I kept hearing the announcers comment about how good Memphis' defense had been all season. Quite frankly, when you have superior athletes, you're bound to look good against teams that walk the ball up the floor and allow you to get set on defense. Missouri took advantage of a defense that never had time to get set.

Hats off to Missouri for playing the game the way it was meant to be played. Over ALL 94 x 50 feet. Constant pressure... Constant motion. And against a Memphis team loaded with premium talent. They ran those boys tongues out. I know Nolan Richardson was proud.
