As great a recruiter he is, Calipari has never struck me as an awesome coach. He has trouble when teams dictate tempo to him. Kansas played an up tempo game against him last year as well, although it wasn't to this extent. He had no clue how to slow the game down (which would have been easier to accomplish on the offensive end rather than on the defensive end). All he did was cuss at the refs.
Missouri won that game in first half when Memphis' players began to run out of gas. When that kid for Memphis missed that dunk near the end of half, I thought to myself that it was a 'fatigue' miss.
I kept hearing the announcers comment about how good Memphis' defense had been all season. Quite frankly, when you have superior athletes, you're bound to look good against teams that walk the ball up the floor and allow you to get set on defense. Missouri took advantage of a defense that never had time to get set.
