I think Comegy would be a good coach for them. He fits their prototype and is a Billy Joe disciple so they can relate to him. The jsu job is a coaching grave yard and Rick is trying to get out of there before he becomes buried even deeper. I am sure he wishes he would have remained at Tuskegee which is a much better position.

Dude you have Comegy as your coach. You should be quiet. He couldn't even get his team up to play SU and allowed himself to get beat twice by UAPB. He has been skating every damn year at JSU but you want to call Odums out. I would take Odums every day of the year over Comegy. Fat Rick time has come and past. Even FAMU didn't want his arse.

Yeah right. When you guys have your coaching search, we will see if JSU will hire Spears. You already know you going to get one of Vivian's friends to be your head coach.

JR, let's re-evaluate you alls hiring process. The 1st time since Pete's firing, you all did a national HC search and found a guy that was a NFL position coach with a losing college record. And you all waited damn near 3 months for him to try to talk his boss into keeping him on with the team, even in a lower capacity role. Even after he said he would take a pay cut, they fired him and then he showed up like he really wanted to be your coach. Waited damn near 3 months to hire a guy to win only 2-3 games a year.
Then there was the 2nd national HC search that produced Odums. Not the cream that floated to the top, but the black stuff that sinks to the bottom of the barrel.

Messed up the search. Tell me how they messed it up. Folks applied and they picked 6 as semi finalists. They picked 3 as finalists and went with Odums because he convinced them he could do the job without breaking the bank like the rest of yall dumb arses are doing with these coaches who can't win a damn OOC game. It is about time we got some sense. Maybe Odums aint a big name. But hell, aint none of our schools attracting up and coming coaches right now. They all are trying to be FBS bound. Outside of Jenkins and Maynor. What names were you looking for? You gone see when your job comes open. Look at FAMU. Their names have Spears and one of our semi finalists Hendrick on their final list. And FAMU was paying Taylor over 200K. So where is the big name on their list?
Come on Beans and smell the coffee. Our jobs ain't as desirable as you think. When I say ours. I mean FCS in general. Even Jenkins was a reach for BCU. He was at Rutgers for 1 year under Schiano, after being on under performing staffs at ULL for all them years. But he walked into a decent situation where Shine left them some talent and has made his way.
Yall talk all that smack and criticize a search that was NATIONAL since coaches from outside of the region did apply. West, East, South, Midwest all were represented in the guys who applied to SU. Kenn posted the list for all to see. There were others not on the list who did inquire about the position as well. But you JSU folks think SU should have waited weeks to get who? The AD had his 3 picks and obviously the search committee and board agreed with him on his selection. When Odums whoops Fat Rick again next season. You will begin your coaching search that night I imagine and maybe you will be quiet finally. You need to worry about how bad those other sport teams are going to do this year. Shole can't wait to SU basketball get in that arse either. Again.

Dude, nobody disputes what the last AD and Tony Clayton did with their battle to get their guy in. Every Jag on this board was hot about how that went down.
You keep talking cream. How do you know Odums can't win? You don't know. No more than you know Spady or Jenkins would have won at SU either. Nobody knows that. That's why you play the games. You thought Comegy would win at JSU like he did at TU. And he hasn't. Lighting doesn't always strike twice for these coaches. Ain't like they are Nick Saban or some damn body. They are what we have to deal with. None of these HBCU head coaches are just lighting it up. Maynor is the cream of the crop right now and notice his name has not surfaced for SU's job (He did inquire) or the FAMU job. Maybe he even knows he needs to stay D2. I bet Comegy wishes he had.
