MegaChurch Pastor Found Dead in Times Square Hotel Had Drugs

Remember though, your giving is out of obedience to GOD, not your pastor. Good thing is that GOD will always have to time to listen to you morning, day, night, etc. God never made it a requirement for pastors to meet individually with members at their request. That's what GOD is for.

When did God tell me I had to up them my paper?

So if man is inherently flawed and subject to sin, why is there a need for pastors, considering those in that position are human?

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of Peace, and bring glad tidings of Good Things!"

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."
---Romans 10:14-15, 17 (KJV)

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."---I Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV).

Now that's a good question? Why do we need em?

Jer 3:15 KJV

15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Are we praying for and taking good care of the gifts of pastors that we have been given?

Your paper :) ??? Remember, you can't even wake up by yourself. Let alone work a job and make $$$ and earn a living under your own power. Eveything you (and us) have you owe to God. Everything you have, you have only because God allowed you to get it. We are actually "stewards" of things down here; especially money.

So to answer your question, look up tithes, offerings, paying alms, works, etc in the bible and see what Gods says about giving "your" paper. OT and NT. I'm sure this is not the first you've heard of this...

LOL @ folks thinking they know beyond a shadow of a doubt what "god" wants. Pure vanity.

Good Question....I will answer this based on what I've witnessed:

Some Pastors I know of have admited that they indeed put their ministry and/or people that they serve before family and as a result their family was neglected. I think many that have accepted that responsibility start off very humble but along the way get caught up and forget 1 Timothy 3 especially verses 4 &5. Others may have gotten caught up in the Position of being a Pastor and having influence over others.

I think it is important for a Pastor to have an accountabilty partner or someone to watch and pray with so they can stay on the alert and hold on to integrity. I had a Seminary Professor tell me about how the Devil was glad when an honest upright man accepted his call to preach and spread the gospel. He said that the devil was
not mad but happy cause he still had the mans habits and if he just caught the man slipping, he could use the man to bring more hell on this earth, if that makes sense to everyone....

Hmmm, how did the seminary professor know the devil was glad? He reading satan's mind now. I guess once a person gets the title of "pastor", they receive magical powers to know what "god" is thinking and what the "devil" is thinking also? I didn't know that, and still don't.
In reality, they're just mere men and women just like the rest of us. It's us humans who mistakenly and naively place them on this imaginary pedestal. People need to learn to think for themselves.

This one comes to mind ...
Eph 4: 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

If I was a Christian, this verse would come to mind: Phillipians 2:12. "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

If preachers were doing such a good job over their congregations, I wonder why our murder rates and divorce rates are so high? People need to take ownership of their own problems and not put them into the hands of a fallible human being, whom they've naively placed on a false pedestal.

After saying that, Ephesians 6:5 also comes to mind: "Servants, be obedient to them that are [your] masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;"
One can take ownership of his/her own problems or put them into the hands of their religious "masters" (i.e.: preachers, pastors, priests, bishops and reverends).

I know exactly what I am asking and have looked it up and know who is AUTHORIZED to accept a tithe. Bring it.

One thing that shows is, the devil knows the bible better than anyone. They have to have that knowledge to convince you for that trip to hell........

You just confirmed my earlier point. How did the preachers, priests and pastors let this happen?:emlaugh:

JayRob didn't open this thread, but I do believe he's obliged, like everyone else, to comment while it's open don't you think?

Kinda like me commenting on a situation with the pilot's union and their disagreements with the airlines when I dont know how to fly a plane and all the logistics that goes into being a pilot.

I am glad I am not sitting on the same pew as some of you judgmental heathens.

Man, I'm with you. I couldn't make it past the second page. I used to watch him on The Word Network. He made it no secret about his background. I'm sorry to see that this was his outcome.

I really hate this for that pastor. He tried to live a decent life but was side-lined and distracted, but at least he was brave enough and strong enough to admit his mistakes and own up to them. Sad to hear that he also left behind 4 children.

I tell you what, if it was narcotics the devil is seriously at work....just look at Paula and Whanita (excuse the spelling)!

100th post to this thread.

So, a pastor who did drugs in his youth dies in a NY hotel and a mysterious white powder is discovered on the scene. There is large speculation and accusation thrown at him. The coroner's office says to wait a couple of weeks for the toxicology report. Well, its been nearly 8 months and I haven't heard a peep one way or the other. That leads me to SPECULATE that there was nothing damaging in the report. Has anyone heard anything from the coroner's office at all?
