I am not a holy roller by any means, but I always find it funny how people can find reasons not to put money in the collection plate while they trick off funds elsewhere. I can understand that everyone may not agree with tithing for whatever reason. However, every church has a collection plate regardless of the denomination or the size of the sanctuary. If a person doesn't want to attend a "megachurch", then there are plenty of smaller churches out there that could use committed Christians.
I have seen and heard some things from some churches that would lead me not to attend those churches. However, that doesn't stop me from attending the church of my choice and supporting as needed (either financially or through service). I can't stand Fred Price and Creflo Dollar, but instead of sitting back and complaining about them I simply do not attend their churches or support their activities. What they are doing doesn't affect what I choose to do. Likewise, what's going on in some congregations shouldn't affect your own walk with God.
All in all, although a person may not wish to give their time, talent, and finances to a "megachurch", that shouldn't stop them from giving their time, talent, and finances somewhere.
I have a serious question for anyone. What is a "holy roller" ? I have heard and read that term used alot by people in a negative manner. Why would a Christian call another Christian a holy roller just because of an opinion that the person may be going "overboard" with something ? Why would a non-Christian call a Christian a holy roller just because the person may be going "overboard" with something? Both a very judgmental.
