2016 will mark the year that another coach will lead the “self-proclaimed” Might JSU Tigers. It is interesting that Coach Hughes would accept such a task given the coaching carousel that has taken place in JACKTown in the last decade or more years. James Bell came to JSU with a wealth of support but the alumni quickly moved for his ouster even though he won against Grambling State. Comegy came and in fact won a championship and incidentally goes down as one of the greatest coaches to succeed in a decade with a greater win record but still the alumni wanted more. Harold Jackson was hired and again the alumni gathered around him knowing that with his connections he would succeed and yet again the alumni wanted him gone. Now JSU is left with Hughes where the alumni again have surrounded him with joy and support. GSU and JSU open their SWAC play against one another and the SWAC is wondering that if this does not fare well will JSU be announcing a new head coach before Christmas.

There is a common denominator in all this which are the Monday morning JSU Alumni QBs and Coaches who know about as much about football as a pig knows about Latin. But that my friend is another conversation.

Prediction:

3-8

Hughes will be given an additional year to get things straight. If not there will be a new coaching announcement in December 2017.
 
At first glance - I thought the REAL Maroon and White Paper was back. :D:D:D

There won't be a new coaching announcement. Hughes will be at JSU for all 3 yrs. JSU is not gonna pay a $100,000 buyout!!!

You given them to much credit. 3-8? Brother I'm telling you they ain't got nothin over there. I talk to former players from j st they'll even tell u they might win 2 games.

I thought you had a LITTLE sense but now I see you have none if you naively believe that garbage.
You need to worry about that fatboy on the bluff and whether he can finish above third place.

And I call a spade a spade too. You don't know what you're talking about, that's why you need to worry about what Odoms gone do with those inexperienced defensive coaches and no Germany.

@The Founder Never put mighty and jsu in the same sentence. That's been an oxymoron along the same lines as those delusional fans of a certain underachieving nfl franchise located in Texas not named the Houston Texans.
