Man shot, killed by off duty Dallas police officer who walked into the wrong apartment - Part 2

She's going to get something. All the tricks they are trying to get it thrown out the judge isn't having it. She may not get what she deserves, but she'll get something.

If she gets all it is basically giving police officers the right to walk in your home and shoot you no questions asked because a precedence has been set.

Just like the previous DA (who did the same thing), Dallas folk are trying to be stars more than doing the work. That judge isn't worth a damn either though. Crying when botham Jean's neighbor testified will definitely lead to questions about her impartiality even if ol girl is convicted and sentenced (which she wont be). She's also now allowing that c**n d.p.s. officers testimony who testified that he didnt see anything unlawful.

Honestly from the beginning the prosecution's case for murder was shaky at best. They weren't even trying for a murder conviction

I want to know what those text messages said. I'd she was black or if they were the guys text messages we would know exactly what they were saying.

The judge just ruled that jury can consider the Castle Act which is a version of stand your ground. How the fuck do you stand your ground while entering somebody else's home without permission????????

Like I said, they are going to figure out a way for her to get away with a straight up murder, she killed that man in cold blood

Hell I bet if it were a black cop he would have had to accept a plea. Look at the cop from Somalia who killed the lady in alley. Now that was accidental....this situation....she should get second degree murder.

Trial

The Castle Doctrine functions much like “Stand Your Ground” laws in other states, allowing a person to use “force (even deadly force) in the protection of a home, vehicle, or other property if someone attempts to forcibly enter or remove an individual from the premises.”

Neither of those apply in this case. I think they're trying to get her as less as possible. I don't think Dallas could handle a not guilty verdict.

The sad part is that the judge informed the jury that they can explore this as an option.

They grey area is.....if someone enters my home a I demand they leave and they say no but they use deadly force against me.....she was in his home without an invitation and killed because she assumed he was in her when she was in the wrong house.

Yup.....they trying to get her off.

The judge, a black woman, allowed this. SMH! Black women in law enforcement in Dallas has let that brotha down. First the police chief, now the judge. Black folks in the legal community are sometimes worse than white folks.

Hold up....hold up....Mr. Jean was SITTING DOWN ON HIS SOFA EATING ICE CREAM WHEN HE WAS SHOT? Everything I read and heard said he was moving towards her.

In his closing argument on Monday, Dallas County Assistant District Attorney Jason Fine stood before jurors and asked them to reject Guyer's "crazy" contention that she shot the 26-year-old Jean in self-defense because she believed she was in her own apartment and that the victim, who was sitting on his couch eating ice cream, was going to kill her.
