Louisiana Votes To Split HS Football Playofffs

Especially Black folks. Ever since the days of Brown v. the Board of Education where public schools were forced to desegregate, White Americans have tried their best to redirect tax dollars back into their communities and the voucher program was just another means of redirecting funds to mostly White private schools. Although most of the monies were being redirected to majority White private schools, things got ugly for those who supported Jindal's voucher program once a private Black school in Lincoln Parish and a Muslim school in Tangipahoa Parish seek to benefit. I'm sure that State judge had to make a decision on what he though was the lesser of the two evils.

Jindal sat up there and had the black folks all up in arms supporting his plan. He really had them believing it was to help their children get a better education.

I and about 1000 of my colleagues tried, but they pretty much locked us out of the building during the discussions, and intimidated those that did actually get to speak on the bills.

As a tax paying citizen of Louisiana, I commend you and colleagues efforts. Just think of the possibilities if two more zeros was added to that 1000. I remember when the seafood industry was upset about lost revenues due to the BP oil spill. I've never seen that many white shrimping boots in my life. They even had their boats on trailers parked around the capitol blocking the parking lots. That was one of the few times the Governor made an appearence on the steps of the capitol to address citizens. Also, I was in the capitol that day on the 4th floor and when I heard they had locked the doors I was like WTF. That should have never happened as it was seen as by some legislators and other state officials as a slap in the face to citizens wanting to get their voice heard.

Now you know those folks are not going away quietly. I'm sure they are thinking of Plan B. And since you are in the State Capitol, we can be well informed of what's next.

Looks like the private schools are threatening to secede from the LHSAA.

Catholic High football coach Dale Weiner said he was impressed with how the group calmly and collectively discussed working with the LHSAA and other numerous options, including potential litigation and the possibility that select schools, many of which are private schools, would elect to form their own association.

“I think the consensus was that we can’t sit on our hands and accept the status quo,” Weiner said. “I don’t think anybody wants to leave the association.

“But there was discussion about making our feelings known to the LHSAA, about some of the other possibilities out there, like litigation and about forming a separate association.
