Team. King James is better. He leads his team in points, assists, rebounds, and steals (possibly blocks too). Kobe takes plays off on defense. Kobe may be a better scorer but offensively James is the total package. I'd place James slightly ahead defensively too.

He had to rest Carmelo at that point because he was barely making it down court. He needed him in the game late.

Kobe isnt a better scorer, passer, or rebounder over King James.... thats just FACT. LJ is simply the better overall player... He is a beast who is unstoppable and makes everyone around him better. The only statistical category he Kobe led LJ in is steals... As far as defense... didnt LJ finish number 2 behind D. Howard for defensive player of the year. We wont even mention the MVP votes.

Then he should have used a timeout if Anthony needed a rest. I'm pretty sure a TV timeout was coming up also. As soon as Anthony went to the bench the Lakers regained the lead.

Every non-call, missed call, or just flat out bad call is important and game changing, and every NBA game feautures 50-60 of them. The truth is that coaching decisions cost the Lakers game 2, much like coaching decisions cost Denver game 1.
 
LeBron deserved the MVP award, but that doesn't mean he's better than Kobe. Remember when guys other than Jordan won the MVP...did that make them better than Jordan? No!

LeBron had a good season and the Defensive MVP runnerup was (imo) a nod to his improvement on that end...but still he's not a better defender than Kobe. And that "he takes plays off" talk...not anymore than any other player. C'mon man this is the NBA and it's a grueling league...all of them steal a breather here and there. Hell that's even on the high school level but when it's lock down time (and with Kobe that's damn near every possession) he answers the call. (Sidenote: While thinking of it, if anyone should have been runnerup DPOTY, it was Chris Paul and all those steals and turnovers he caused).

Back to Kobe... He can defend guys his size, guys bigger (within reason) and guys smaller. Plays the passing lane well.. as does LJ but the difference is that Kobe can guard ANY perimeter player in the game. LeBron can't make that claim!!!!
 
The fact is, Fisher needs to come off the bench, while Farmar or Brown needs to start. He's more of a shooting guard playing point and he's shooting 29 percent.
Walton's and Sasha's time need to be shortened.

Phil needs to start Bynum, Ariza, Gasol, Kobe and Farmar (or Brown).
He also needs to play Odom, Bynum and Gasol at the same time. That would present matchup problems for Denver with their size.
Odom needs to guard Carmello and put Kobe on Denver's worst shooter, so he can roam. He doesn't need to be playing Denver's best scorers until crunch time.

This series could easily be 2-0 Denver... like many of us with basketball knowledge been telling some of you clueless folk about this series.. Danver is playing better ball than LA.. And right now we are seeing LA's best and we ALL know Denver is better than these fist two games.... Chauncey missing all them dayum free throws...

Who can LA thank for stealing Gasol?

Because with out Gasol, LA would have been OUT of the play-offs....

Carmello is doing an awesome job in the play-offs.. this is his coming out party.. and he is partying all over Kobe.. This is what Carmello been needed...A solid experienced point guard...
This LA team is being exposed... And people are finally starting to understand why 23 is better than 24..

Being totally honest There isn't much of a gap between Carmello and Kobe..

I done told yall.....Phil and Pete are kinfolk. Phil done got paid, got rings, got the owners daughter(so he basically is a hearbeat away from being owner if he marries ole girl). Phil done retired on the bench. Look at old Bulls clips and see how much Phil was up and down on the bench( I know he done had hip replacement now)....calling timeouts.....getting on the team. He had more passion as a coach then. He looks like he don't give a fugg. Hell he used to be more demonstrative in his interviews back then. Never giving the other team credit. Now he is a NICE PHIL. LOL. He aint hard no more. That's why the Lakers play soft. Not to mention Tex Winter is not on the sidelines or in practice anymore since he has been sick this year. I think he is just a consultant. He used to be a hard arse from all reports from Chicago and his days with LA when that staff first got there.

naw folks don't give him his props, but Melo can ball period. I don't know why he hasn't made more All Star appearances. I've seen him in person and was trippin! I'd never really followed Denver but after I saw him with my own eyes I started paying attention. He is proving himself in this series too.
