YES!!!
When Kobe has talent around him, he produces. When Kobe doesn't have talent around him, he STILL produces.

dude, you didn't answer the question...

Does his presence on the court positively contribute to the development of the players around him???

does his leadership inspire his teammates to strive for better?

All the legends that have been mentioned in this thread have those 2 traits in spades...

It's almost comical how henpecked you guys sound...really....

what has EBOK "produced" since he "became the man" in LA? (besides fan frustration, text messages, and extensive whining and fingerpointing?)

please enlighten all of us that aren't a part of your cult... :smh:

Yes or no? Can you read? I answered......YES!!
You prove that Kobe hasn't helped his teammates improve.

You prove that Kobe hasn't helped his teammates improve.

Did MJ make Brad Sellars, Stacey King, Granville Waiters better? No, he was frustrated in those days, known as a ball-hog who didn?t trust his teammates. He had to wait till better players came on board.

You prove that Kobe hasn't helped his teammates improve.

Look at the 30 NBA teams. I would say Kobe?s supporting cast, talent wise, was in the bottom 5, yet Kobe had them playing .500 ball and in the play-off race. He deserves much props for that, yet he mostly gets "hate?.

*lmao*

dude, take a look at the team as a whole and you've got your answer... :shame:

the bottom line is that the team as a whole has withered away since ole dude became the so-called "man" in L.A...

where do I start...

the offense runs through him

(you grasp what that means, right??? That means EBOK is the focal point in the triangle offense...He is also the primary decision-maker in the offense. he has the ball in his hands at least 85 to 90 percent of the time in halfcourt sets; I'll let you figure out what he does with it...There's a reason he averages more shot attempts than the rest of his starters combined for a season.)

I now know that you don't understand the basic fundementals of the game, so I'm gonna put this in layman's terms for you;

when you have one person who is the focal point of a given offense, he has to be able to get the rest of his team involved in order for the offense as a whole to run well.

When the other players don't get the touches necessary in said offense, the offense as a whole suffers...

In other words, the players have to get quality touches in game situations to develop the right way...

Do you grasp this?

How come the majority of the folks reading these sensless EBOK-worship threads can grasp this but you (and some of your cult followers; some folks, like jag4life, are a bit more pragmatic..*lol* )

I guarantee you the US rollin' over folks will have more to do with the overall chemistry, balance, and skillsets of the team being sent, rather than EBOK struggling for 50 pts on 60 shot attempts... :shame: :smh:

you can point fingers for EBOk now, if you like.... :emlaugh:

Thanks for the correction.

.....and Jerry West's 1-8 championship record? You carry on.

You've been saying "Thanks for the correction" quite a bit in the last few months boy. Your love for Kobe tends to blind you from the truth and causes you to misrepresent the facts, lie, or just make hsit up to make yourself sound good, LOL!! Nobody with an ounce of basketball knowledge would ever say that Oscar Robertson played for the Lakers, LOL!! Dude, at least look up and confirm the hsit that you're spewing before you come on here and make an ass out of yourself, LOL!!

Poor Kobe lovers  They are so blind it is :scared:

Must we even entertain this SILLY notion that Kobe is the G.O.A.T. He averages less points, rebounds, steals, assists, has a lower FG percentage, has a higher turnover rate, has a lower playoff scoring average and won less championships, than Jordan and this come from a non-Jordan fan. Please check out NBA.com and look at the numbers, it clearly shows Jordan had better averages in nearly every category. Matter of fact, you will be surprised at how low Kobe ranks in stats compared to some retired players. And you certainly can't say Kobe's numbers are low because the NBA is tougher now than back in the 1980s and 1990s. Kobe's numbers are lower because it is more to the game than jackin' it up and being a diva.
And Kobe's numbers still didn't compare to Jordan's when the Lakers were good and had talent.

Hogwash....You think the "supporting cast" that EBOK had to work with was any worse than half of the teams in the east?

gimme a break...even on clubs that didn't have the depth or talent level ispecific positions, players on those squads developed because the had folks that knew how to get the ball to the right folks in the right sopts to score, or at least make the extra pass to the right person to score.

That's a dayumn cop-out and a perfect example of the "finger-pointing" that the "EBOK Era" is synonomous for.

Golden State practically went 6 deep the ENTIRE SEASON...you didn't see half of the finger-pointing and whining that you see out of the Laker camp these days. when the play-offs hit, that depth that was non-existent during the season essentially won them a series.

didn't see them crying like 304's about their teammates, ethier.

Young talent in this league is young talent...It's all about how that talent develops; What you do on the floor and in practice, as well as how you do it, is the biggest determinig factor in this league.

Mike's mentality changed way before any influx of talent took place...the dude was the first person in the gym and the last person out of it... He lead by example...THAT'S how you inspire folks to better their own contributions to the team.

Show me another post where I said, "Thanks for the correction". Put up or stamp your forehead with L-I-A-R.
The difference between people like me and you is I truly don't mind being corrected. No sweat off my back.

Yeah, harp on that one mistake, but IGNORE West's 1-8 championship record all you want to.
Ignore the fact that MJ didn't make sellers, grandville and a couple of others better players. Now who's makin an ass of himself?

Hogwash....You think the "supporting cast" that EBOK had to work with was any worse than half of the teams in the east?

Mr. longwinded, give US some numbers PROVING that Kobe's teammates didn't get better ONCE they got to L.A..
Numbers please, not rhetoric.:lecture:

NUMBERS PLEASE.....

And by the way, every morning at 4:30am, guess who's in the gym?? KOBE....

Dude,

just take a look at the Stats for the Lake show from the past 3 to 5 seasons...

The only person on the squad that experienced a substantial increase in scoring was Lamar Odom...Even then, his scoring increase came with fewer touches of the ball. It's funny because the other stats are actually positive, but nobody else touches the ball enough during the course of the season for it to translate chemistry-wise.

the stat that counts the most is what the Lakers have done in the won/loss department since Shaq left...

I guess you gotta find someone to scapegoat for that, right....Like the rest of the team??? *lol*

Ignore the fact that MJ didn't make sellers, grandville and a couple of others better players. Now who's makin an ass of himself?

You, if you actually believe that mess you just typed...*lmao*

try taking a look at the Bulls during the time period while those players were there...they didn't win any champoinships, but those cats improved collectively as a team during that time period.

So, do you think that EBOK is gonna dominate the ball for team USA, too?

seriously???

YES!!!
When Kobe has talent around him, he produces. When Kobe doesn't have talent around him, he STILL produces.

Gott dammit preach brotha'!

Who else can say the same? That damned ball-hogging mofo Jordan? lol  Plz. That somma'batch would CHUNK UP 40-60 shots per night and score fiddy points in a losing effort. Kobe, MOST of the time, had his team in a position to win. :read: Even led his "team" to the playoffs. Can MJers say likewise?

~snicker~:saw:

See ... see ... see now. I had a feeling this was happening. You guys are just some sadistic bastids who like to jerk chains to see if the dog will bark.

It is simply not possible for you to believe that garbage that you just posted. Instigators!

~snicker~ my arse. Your gig is up!

Either YOU'RE scared to produce them cause you know what Kobe did for his team OR your research skills have diminished to the kindegarten level, worst than JR's.:what:

No, we like to have the TRUTH jerk your chains. We're just the messengers.

Dear Panthro and jay

Thanks for telling the truth against the myth that MJ was the greatest of all time. The only reason these other people dont recognize that Kobe is the GOAT is because somebody white hasnt told them that yet. If you let ESPN start saying that KOBE is the GOAT then the people on this board will say the same.

These people dont realize that MJ had David Stern on his side and was being promoted by Stern. BTW JR, the rules were changed so that MJ wouldnt have to go through the hard playoff foul era. If you dont remember, Jordan could not survive until his team mate, David Stern, changed the rules to help Jordan.

JR

Please get out of here with that bullschti about bringing up players that played with the shorts that had buckles on them. Those players were good for their era. Only one or two of them could even make a team today (wilt). You keep saying "go back and watch film." Have you ever watched film of old NBA basketball? Man that schit is unwatchable. WNBA players have better skills than those guys and could probably kick their asses.

Bill Russell couldnt make a team today
Walt Frazier ....""
Earl Washington ""

Ignoring the facts to make your point makes your point meaningless.

Six words stop Kobe from getting out of the first round.
Kwame Brown
Smush Parker
Mitch Kuptchak

Take them hater glasses off man.

I see the Kobe lovers have no response to why Kobe's numbers are so INFERIOR to Jordan's in every category. Still waiting....:D

There is a logical explanation for it. Does GR actually have to spell it out for you?

OK let me counter your senseless stats.

Kobe has more rings than Jordan at his age. Why is that?
If you answer that, then you will answer your own question grasshopper.

Kobe has more rings than Jordan at his age. Why is that?
Shaq. End of story. (at least for objective folks)

Hell, Horry has more rings than a helluva lot of players, based on your faulty "logic" that surely makes him an all time great, right?
:smh:

let's see, without Shaq, kobe has "produced" two first round beatings in the playoffs and one year of not making the playoffs.

If that's producing, then DAMN!!!!!!!!!
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Without Kobe carrying his big clumsy ass, Shaq got swept this year by a bad Bulls team....so whats your point.

Like GR just told JR. Telling half the truth is just as bad as a lie.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Let's see: leading scorer two straight years out of more than 300 NBA players; all defensive team; most assists for the Lakers; made the playoffs; all-star teams; NUMBER ONE SCORER OUT OF 300 NBA PLAYERS!! YA GOT THAT....NUMBER ONE. If that ain't producin', I don't know what is.

Anyway you slice it, yall Kobe hatahs gone have to cheer for THE MAN since he's going to be playin for the Stars and Stripes.

Hell, some of yall Kobe hatahs might cheer against the U.S. team to spite Kobe. It don't matter, they still gone win!!

Go USA!! Go Kobe!!!

And without Shaq Kobe hasn't made out the first round... Which half of the truth do you tell?

Still tellin half truths. You left out no Horry, no Fisher, no Malone, no Payton, no Jerry West. You left out the fact that the WHOLE team was gutted and Kobe is the only one left on the entire Laker roster.
