With Kobe on the team, along with Billups, Stoudemire, Kidd and others, ain't no way in hades the USA will lose a game.:lecture:

"Seventeen members of USA Basketball Men?s Senior National Team program are confirmed to participate in the July 20-22 USA mini-training camp that will be conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Basketball announced today."

"We are excited about the 17 players who will be attending this mini-camp. This is obviously a very important training camp as it will be used to select the 12 players who will represent the United States in the

August 22-Sept.2 FIBA Americas Championship which will determine the two teams from the Americas zone that will qualify for the 2008 Olympics," said USA Senior Team Managing Director, Jerry Colangelo.

Couldn't resist it, could ya, Jay???? :smh:

Ebok not withstanding, It looks like we've got a good core of players that are gonna be suited for the international style of ball...Most importantly, we've got folks that are gonna be able to stretch those zones out when the game slows down.

We've got a great mix of perimeter talent to call upon when play starts. As good of an offensive player as EBOK is, it's gonna be folks like Michael Redd, JJ Reddick, and Mike Miller that are gonna make it really difficult for the international squads to throw junk defenses at us like they've done in the past.

Reddick and Redd, in particular, are born zonebreakers...You just can't leave them unmarked on the floor in a zone situation on defense....

We already know we've got it on lock in terms of transition play.

The reason the USA hasnt been able to win lately is because Kobe hasnt been on the team. They have been looking for someone with the game of Kobe, but Lebron, Punk Carter, Iverson, Wade and the rest of them clowns just aint Kobe.

They dont have the defense, offense, outside shooting, inside game, the ability to take it to the goal and the pure heart of Kobe. Kobe is the greatest basketball player of all time, those other guys are good, but its obvious that they are not Kobe.

they should win it easily this time.

Preach brotha, PREACH!!:nod::nod:

so EBOK is the entire US squad, GR?

why don't we just send EBOK by himself...at least that's what you cult followers probably think....

*smh*

Jim Jones send help... *lol*

People hate to admit the truth mostly because of their blind love for Jordan. Even with Sterns agenda against Kobe, Kobe still proves to be the best of all time. When you send players like Richard Jefferson to the Olympics, losing the Olympics is inevitable. What can that chump do besides dunk?

PREACH IT GREAT ONE!!!!! Kobe IS w/out a doubt the GREATEST of all-time.

Along w/ that other dude named Jordan once his ball-hogging ass learned to pass the ball and have FAITH in a thing called "a team." :smug: Had to say it before the Jordan groupies come in here moaning and such. :smug:

didn't Kobe turn down the chance to play in the last Olympics???

dude American arrogance is what got USA basketball in trouble. Thinking get any 15 dudes out the league would be better than the rest of the world.

the quality and talent level of the rest of the world has caught up to the USA. I really don't think just by Kobe's presence it'll make THAT huge of a difference. Having guys that can actually shoot the rock from outside consistenly has been the thing they needed

There are about 5 guys in NBA history who are better than Kobe.

Magic Johnson
Larry Bird
Michael Jordan
Wilt Chamberlin
Bill Russell

How can Kobe be the greatest player of all-time right now when he has never won an NBA Finals MVP or NBA MVP?

In order to be considered one of the greatest players ever, you have to dominate over a number of years. Not just 2 or 3 because your teammates suck and you have to do everything.

Don't get me wrong, Kobe is a fantastic player, and he might be the greatest player ever when he retires. But he is not there yet.

If Kobe retired today would his peers consider him the greatest player ever? That's who can truly judge him.

If all of you w/ Kobe filled hate would just OPEN your eyes and be objective for a moment.

Look @ what the man does: offensively... inside and outside... distributes when required... goes to the hoop w/ power..... has a TREMENDOUS consistent outside game.... rebounds... pushes the ball, etc.

Defensively? rebounds... holds his man REGARDLESS of size (G/F/C... doesn't matter)... plays EXCELLENT help out D... has enough defensive "vision" such that he anticipates really well, et al.

Besides "dunking da' basketball," what else can these other "elite" players do? Those are indeed some very great players you mentioned earlier. I wonder though... if the game was on the line, who'd you want w/ the ball in their hand to either take the last shot or make the last 2 free throws w/ 1 tick left on the game clock? Besides Jordan and Bird.... I'd say Kobe w/out a doubt!

Pantro

lebron had ONE good game in the playoffs and they tried to elevate him above The Great One. But james showed in the finals that he is not a man. He couldnt do the things Kobe could do at the same age. That cowardly pass he made to marshall summed it up for GR.

Kobe finally being available to go to the Olympics should sure up a gold medal.

I DON'T HATE KOBE!!!

I'm just saying he's not the greatest player of all-time right now. He is the best scorer in the league right now, and one of the best defensive guards in the league. However, he is not G.O.A.T. yet.

When you don't win MVP, it's kinda hard to be considered the greatest. When you play alongside a dominate center and HOFer like Shaq, it's kinda hard to be considered the greatest.

Without a doubt Kobe is a great player now. But only time will tell if he is the greatest of them all.

That's it right there. Those Kobe nutt riding cult followers don't seem to understand that nor do they want to understand it. It amazes me how some people think he's the G.O.A.T. What makes him the G.O.A.T? His stats? The fact that he's the one stand out player on a team full of scrubs? Put his stats up against Jordan, and Jordan is clearly the better player at the same point in his career, with the MVP awards to show it. The only MVP award Kobe has won is the MVP of a meaningless all-star game. Having Kobe on the Olympic team is great, but on a team like that, you won't see him having a string of 50 point games like he does with those sorry Lakers.

Man, you Jordan proponents trip me out! That ball hogging muthafugga thouth the word "PASS" was spelled "PAST" because that's exactly what it was when he had the ball in his hands while taking 70-90 shots a game. lol It was the "past" the time for him to pass the ball to the open man while he was showboating tryna' take 3-4 dudes to the hoop lol, it was "past" time for him to PASS the ball to open teammates who COULD actually score... it was "past" time for him to play some dayamed defense for once in his life. :emlaugh:

Kobe does none of that ever. If Kobe did the same thing that ball-hogging somma'ma'batch did while @ the same age, he'd OWN the nba lol.

......and still NOT have a danm thing (hardware, MVPS) to show for it.

Kobe can't control who votes.
People say he was the best player last year, but for some odd reason, he didn't get the MVP. The exact same thing happened this year.
Unabated biased people voted and they vote against Kobe for the wrong reasons.
Kobe has been the MVP for the last two years hands down.

ummm Panthro,
Comparing their first years in the league, Jordan avg. more assists than Kobe. And Jordan didn't have the benefit of playing with a good center. Kobe had the benefit of playing with THE most dominant center in the game. But don't let those FACTS get in your way.

but carry on though......
