Jesus.

The bottom line is that the reference was made as a jab. That's clear from the wording, and I never took an hour journalism. People ain't this slow. It is what is.

Kenn has indicated that (the journalism featured on) this site should not be considered as a legitimate outlet for SWAC sports info, so the conversation is moot. At the same rate, it's been clearly stated that the front page can be used as a canvass for whatever anyone wants to express, so when frontpage smack/insults start flying, no one should have a problem with it.

Sounds fair to me.

99,
The analogy works because if yall had not lost to them, then this wouldn't even be a discussion. Delta State and their infamous mascot (official or unofficial) would've been forgotten by now if yall had won. But they beat you. And Okra lives on. And it will live on in tspn lore for years. We ALL know it..

This isn't about us getting beat by a team with a silly mascot. Personally, I was more annoyed by that Statesman mascot(reminded me of Col Reb) than i was by the Okra. If we're gonna be embarrassed over losses, DSU is way down the list.

This topic says otherwise.

This topic is about what was put on the front page.

The Grambling State University/Jackson State University (since I can't say "Gram" or "Jstate" anymore lol) game just got more interesting.

I MUST be @ this game. :swink:

question: is this a smack thread yet?

what are the guidelines on this site anyway.... ?

no smack about grambling on the sports board

...and there it is!!

That was proven when someone referred to Alabama A&M as "apes and monkeys." Strange, we saw no outcry for such disrespect in that instance.

First of all, it wasn't on the FRONT PAGE, second, someone did complain, and third, apes and monkeys was used in response to a disrespectful quotation an aamu-er used towards JSU. What's good for the goose........

MH, nobody's concerned about that loss on this thread. We lost. It happens. Most JSU folks had no problem with being smacked after that loss. Hell, it was expected. Smack is smack and will continue to be so. NT had a legitimate question regarding the scope of this site from a journalism standpoint. Kenn answered that question.

...Then the usual sportsboard smack commenced. :D

I wonder how many people get mad when they lose to the Auburn Tigers, but the newspaper headline says War Eagles Win Again.

NICE

In other words, a precedent has been set. So, the C word, along with "apes, monkeys university" is fine? Is that what I can read into this?
