Just one GSU question. Did GSU have prisitine facilities in 2011?

Who ya rootin' for? PVU
Seems like I didn't hear the players complaining when they won in 2011, am I the only one that feels a lot of this protest is because they are losing? :read:

A lot of it stems from losing (and the firing of their Prime Minister Doug Williams).
Facilities ain't changed but Gram still won years ago. The kids on that team are spoiled and soft.
The GSU football players who played before them are probably looking like WTF?
The administration dropped the ball on this. BIG TIME! It should have never gone this far.
They made history with this mess.

I just feel sorry for our seniors, they are disappointed about it. I feel like if you wanted to do something like this, why not YOUR homecoming where your alumni will be. Then the players are tweeting that they want to play us and the rest of their games lol. I tweeted ant mcghee and told him that you cannot pick and choose what games to play. It is these things that make me say they chose this game on purpose. Ant mcghee said they will play other games. 0_o . However, our campus is live!!! Nothi.g has changed for us, HC is more than a game. Game is free plus concert if any local ppl want to come.

So, just because the facilities were bad in the past they should just stay that way? That seems to be your logic and it makes no sense.

Grambling State football players complained of mold and mildew on equipment and in facilities, having to pay for Gatorade out of their own pockets and even said which assistants they thought would make a good interim coach after the firing of Doug Williams in a letter to the administration obtained by ESPN's Pedro Gomez...

The letter says "there are certain factors that are hindering us from reaching our goals" and then elaborates on many of them.

The athletic complex "is in horrible condition, and has many hazards that may contribute to our overall health," the letter says. "First, the complex is filled with mildew and mold. Mildew and mold can be seen on the ceiling, walls and floor, and are contributing to water leaks because of faltering walls and ceilings."

As has been reported before, the players say that the floor is coming up in the weight room, but the letter also asks that the university supply better detergent for uniforms.

"The uniforms are poorly cleaned and contribute to the multiple cases if staph infection," the letter reads. "Several players have been infected with staph multiple times."

A group of 26 photos obtained by Gomez from an unnamed Grambling State player appear to illustrate some of the players' complaints.

Several of the photographs show walls and ceiling tiles and even player equipment that appear to be covered in mold or mildew. Other photos show floors from the facility's weight-training room missing wide sections of its rubberized floor tiles, and torn and tattered covers to some of the room's weightlifting benches.

According to the letter, players have been complaining for some time that Gatorade and the supplement Muscle Milk were not supplied during summer camp or workouts...

It's worse than we thought.

Players should be a healthy environment. The players should get the right meals. He nutrition should be maintained. The facilitates should be up to par. This could have been handled but the two alumni groups do not proceed with giving according to the rules in place at the university. Doug's arrogance got us here. That's the head of the snake.

What puzzles a number of people is that this mutiny started after Doug was fired. Also when Doug left after his first stint he complained about the facilities. Yet you come back and things are the same:confused:

Next thing Piyush Jindal has reached term limits as governor to he was in the position in 2011.

This is not about GSU but about Doug.

Let me ask this question to any of you: if your coach presently went winless in the SWAC what would you do? Hell some of you want your coaches head when he loses to GSU.

Yes They Had The Right To Protest N All But Not At Another's Institution's Expense!! If They Wanted To Boycott What Better Time To Do So Than On GSU's Own Homecoming!!! This Thing Should Have Been Settled In House And On Your On Campus Instead Of Letting This Sewage Spill Out And Over The Conference!!

And Just 2 more thoughts: 1) One Article I Read In ESPN Sited One Of The Leading P-Azz-C-B Spokesman Of The Mutineers Was A Walk-On Player! A Firkin Non-Scholarship Walk-On
Player With Nothing To Lose Was One Of The Leaders!! WTF!!!

2) I Think Doug Took The GSU Coaching Job This Second Time Around Because Some Other Upcoming Football League Fell Through That He Had Planned To
Become A Part Of And Since It Didn't Happen, Gram Became His Fall Back beyotch! I Don't Think His Pride and Football Juices Were Flowing This Second
Time Around And YOU Gram Was Just An Opportunity Of Convenience--Or In Other Words--A Fall Back boytche!!!

Ain't no rules saying a protest should be "comfortable and convenient for all those affected."

And about your "2 thoughts."

1. That walk-on put in the same time as the rest of the players so he had just as much of a right to speak out. The story says the team took up for him when he was kicked off, so apparently they don't see him as just a "walk-on with nothing to lose."

2. That man has accomplished more in his life and done more for his alma-mater than you probably could in 10 lifetimes.

Not at all, but i don't think they will change anything like this. They need to get the alumni fired up enough to donate like we are trying to do, it took us a long time but we are about to change things about our jacked up facilities. Also make some noise with the politicians (Jindal) who cut the money

putting a spotlight on Jindal should be first and foremost. he shouldn't be allowed to remain in the background while we go back and forth at each other.

I agree. The kids have a right to be upset, but this boycott isn't going to change anything at Gram. The alumni has got to step up.

I See You Miss The Entire Point And Speak For Your Own Fruitless and Unproductive Life Dude!

Muscle Milk is one of the worst protein supplements on the market, though. But, the kids shouldn't be deprived of the ability to replenish themselves following workouts or games.
