It's not like he tired to kill someone, I think White should be given a second chance to complete his career and degree at JSU. We have too MANY young black males who don't get a second chance.

The last person that pulled a gun on JSU campus and fired it is now in jail.
Charlie got 2 levels of problems now besides JSU:

City and State.
If Hinds county want's to get in on the act, they could.
Basketball is his last worry now.

He was already under the JSU microscope for that right hook he threw down at SU.

I don't buy that. This is an EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION. You don't bring a GUN on a campus. PERIOD!!!!! It's a SAD situation true enough, but there are consequences to your actions. He shouldn't be excused because he's an athlete... When you get to be Charlie?s age, it?s too late for chances, etc. YOU ARE A GROWN MAN and it?s time to face consequences (good and bad) for what you do. If you pasify the situation you will perpetuate it. The ?black man? problem needs to be dealt with at a different level? not when you?re 20. It starts in the HOME as a CHILD.

So basically most agree that Charlie was wrong for having the weapon....am I right?
And should be punished by JSU and any other laws/jurisdiction that he violated.


If that is the case....what are ya'll :argue2: about? :confused:

I agree, but Jackson State has an athlete on the football team from Ohio State that was given a second chance to play football. Ohio State never released the reason why he was released from the Ohio State football team, for all we know he may have carried a gun onto campus, the bottom line is, he was given a SECOND CHANCE; Charlie White deserves a second chance also.

The dude cold-cocked another athlete (SU) in the face w/ a clinched fist brah during a SWAC bball game. How many chances should he get? :confused:

Athletes throw punches all the time, even in the NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL, so what's your point?
 
JSU Alum,

What we know for sure is that he brought a gun on campus. That is NOT acceptable. End of story. You are bringing up some what if type stuff trying to justify this.

The best thing is to PUNISH Charlie. Maybe it will serve as an example for someone in the future... If he's not punished, you can bet it's going to have the opposite effect.

Not the way this one was described Alum. Can't downplay what he's done. (that was the very FIRST offense)

You can't downplay an illegal weapon on a college campus. It's illegal. Even for lawful concealers. Period.

I know players fight in all sports, but White simply coldcocked that kid. There was no struggle for a rebound. He just punched him. Then, he later broke team rules and was suspended. And now he's bringing weapons on a college campus. That's strike three. The bottom line is you can't wait for the other shoe to fall. What's next? He shoots someone on campus, then you kick him off the team. No. You deal with the problem now. The same goes for any of those players that transfered to JSU. They messed up at Ohio State once or twice and if they mess up once at JSU they should be gone. They should know what's at stake and if they don't they have no one to blame but themselves.
 
JSU Alum if this kid is not punished for his actions it is sending the wrong message out to the public. When he brought a weapon onto campus it became larger than JSU. Disicpline problems are one thing but to have a weapon that "could" have been used for something fatal is unacceptable. Our young men are going to have to start thinking for themselves and do the right thing. At some point a person has to take the blame for their actions.
 



Then Ole Miss/Oxford authorities are at fault for not dealing with...that is.... if they haven't already. Ya'll reaching.

THE POINT IS CHARLIE WAS ON-CAMPUS.
He will be lucky to be let back on campus.

It's against state law to carry a firearm on STATE property even if it's in your car and you have a carry permit.
Firing that weapon add's to the drama.

Charlie's punishment will not be up to JSU.
Charlie has stepped into State Att. HOOD territory now.

Man, that dude needs to be shipped to the same complex facility that Clarrett is at. Let them sit there and talk about why their father's wasnt present in their lives, why ever kid use to pick on them in grade school, why their moms wasnt at home to cook hot foods, etc.....

Send that dude upstate quick, fast, and in a hurry before we see another incident about him.

Exactly!!! I have a concealed carry permit, but there are places in which I can't carry it though. Like any business that derives 75% of it's revenue from alchohol sales, court houses, police precints, hospitals, etc.

But dayumm, in the state of MS you can have a firearm in your vehicle, because your vehicle is an extension of your domicile (home)....BUT NOT ON A COLLEGE CAMPUS!!!!!

I have to ask the question........IS THIS GUY 21 YEARS OLD???????
Because if he aint 21, he can't have a handgun at all!!!!!

Hey, roast his azz if he warrants it! I get tired of college kids trying to be thugs. I can take them to where some real thugs are....I'll see how long you last in their world.

JSU Alum, he pull out the gun in public and fired 3 shots in the air, allegedly. Just hypothetically speaking, what if there was another bad intity in the crowd, or whoever he was angry at had a pistol on them as well. This incident could THAT easily turn into a shootout, because now White would be shooting to save his life. For me, it's different just getting caught with a weapon on campus, but to DISCHARGE that weapon ON CAMPUS..... That puts you in a whole 'nother rhelm. That tells me he's not afraid to use it, thus, just a matter of time before he does. :(
