Personally.
They build it, fine................. they don't build it, move on.
My blood pressure is not going to be affected either way.

Bottom line, if you build it, they will come. Especially if it will house the football and basketball games.

Why am I not surprised at the the naysayers? These same folks blame SWAC members for underachieving, yet when one of it's own tries to achieve something out of the box and instead of seeing the upside and reading the article, they jump to the negative conclusion without knowing the details. It boggles the mind.
Pot-Kettle-Black!!! You know damn well if any other HBCU had these aspirations this thread would have 10 pages of Blue Bengal hate alone by day 2.

once you get past the typical JSU emo on here, there is nothing but good that can come out of this for JSU, the Metro area, Mississippi, the SWAC and HBCU football as a whole if it happens.

My only pause that was brought up in another article. Jackson has started a feasibility study on building a 9-12k arena in Jackson. will Mississippi put 200 million or so into TWO arenas type buildings especially when Jackson State's proposed stadium will basically do the same thing as the one Jackson wants to build...

Bullshat.
When Alabama State posted their stadium photos, nobody from JSU hated on that thing. Ya'll got the worst case of amnesia in the history of the human race. Ya'll screw up every JSU thread that is started but when we return the favor, then ya'll start whinning. :smh:

Say that!!! Some of the same "mind boggled" folks were bashing ASU just 19 or so months ago.:emlaugh:

Do you though jsu, just plan your work and work your plan, that's a serious hook ya'll trying to bite down on.

Bring the threads back up and show us where once the thing started being built. The only thing we clowned ya'll on was the fact that Skeege is 1-0 in you new stadium.

Ya'll can lie knowing people can pull the threads back up and show the lies.

I personally think this all going to get a lot of support from the city and the state... and I have said this before, it won't be for JSU. This dome idea does not really benefit JSU in my opinion as much as it would benefit the city and the state. WIth people mentioning tax dollars and population. You need Jackson to grow to spur the MS economy. It's called a retun on investment. If MS can make back the money they spend, why not? The city is certainly going to be behing it 1000% because the cost will be on the university and the state. They will just reap the benefits of tax revenue if the venue can draw people to Jackson.

People have a right to bash AlaState if they did. ASU don't do nothing right. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to tear that stadium down in two years.. LOL Thats not hate. That is just based on how ASU does business.

Dude....

How do you make more money by not renting? Now ASU has to take care of upkeep, insurance, electric bills and other utilities.

Oh well, good luck with that alumni money drive to help pay that mortgage note.

They lied to you major.

Don't know why this blubengal dude is comparing Memorial to Bama State's stadium. Bama State is in debt up to it's ears while JSU can sit back...

Very few cool ones like this...

Wow!! This is amazing. it just takes me back to 1995-1996 when we started building our stadium. Folks had so much negative stuff to say. All you heard was we couldn't pay the bonds, we were in default, blah blah blah, and we still kicking it in Crews moving forward. Good luck Bama St and shake them haters off!!!!

:scared:
well maybe once Jsu's thing start being built, folks will change their tune then. You know, like you're saying Jsu folks did.

hopefully Jsu can get it on campus

Personally............... You know I don't care about 3/4 of the stuff people say here.
It is 4 forums of smack. Nobody discuss or talk about nothing on this board. That is why I stopped posting on most schools topics except for JSU. People whine more than a damm baby on this board and then say it's ALL JSU.

Hell............ If this thing is built, I hope it's the start of the 1st move out this conference for JSU.

1st of all, the land that Memorial sits on was valued at over $110,000,000 back in 2006.

2nd.............. JSU don't even own the land Memorial sits on. JSU don't even own Memorial Stadium. The State of Mississippi owns both. The State..............NOT UMC or OLE MISS.

No matter how many times JSU peeps tell ya'll this, ya'll continue to post the same wrong info over and over.

LOL @ Frat. Don't try to explain it anymore bruh. Most folks get it.

Now the smack is probably in retaliation to TP and others questioning Bama State for building their stadium like it wasn't necessary or when GR clowned SU for our endzone facility. That's all it is.

If the State is smart, they would invest in this with JSU. They could turn that Dome into a money making deal. Especially with the Coliseum being old and outdated. The City and State should be right behind JSU on this one and help try to fund it. You could host all kinds of stuff. Even bid for NCAA regional games for basketball. I see all kinds of opportunities for this deal. With JSU cashing checks at the end of the day if done right. Good luck.

TP. That is not necessary. Somebody did something right to get that stadium built. Regardless of what other issues they have had with administration. Something that big has too many folks watching what is going on.

This is what I think as well. It makes more sense that way. If them mofos have any sense in the home state, they would realize your CAPITAL CITY has to be a beacon of growth and prosperity to help push the state ahead and increase opportunities for economic growth. But unfortunately those are the same mofos you can't trust. You would be better off if JSU folks were running this than some of them city clowns in Jackson. LOL. Hopefully the State ie the Governor will push the city to be on board. He needs to walk his arse over from the Gov mansion to City Hall and get all those clowns on board. As for JSU this can be a win win for them if this all goes through.

The biggest difference is in Bama State case, folk were questiinin why built in the first place, you didn't need it and couldn't fill it. The talked about administrative ineptness in getting it done. Nowhere do I recall anyone outright saying Bama State was not gonna build the stadium. Here, these dudes are just flat out saying it ain't gone be done. They creating numbers to justify it, too. Saying JSU dont need a $200m dome ain't nearly the same as saying JSU ain't gonna build a $200M dome.

I question the cost robber.

I think this is a more accurate reflection of what it may cost.

Granted construction cost may be less in the south but I can't see it being five hundred million less.
