Would be good if it happened but i also doubt it. JSU couldn't even build their own stadium but now wants a Dome Stadium? Seems like a big wish to me. Seems like someone driving before the wheels are placed on the ride.
 
Why am I not surprised at the the naysayers? These same folks blame SWAC members for underachieving, yet when one of it's own tries to achieve something out of the box and instead of seeing the upside and reading the article, they jump to the negative conclusion without knowing the details. It boggles the mind.

Been teling ya'll JSU has already had a place for a stadium in between downtown and campus.

Terry road and Gallitin is one of those 80% locations. The only thing JSU don't own in between Terry Road and Gallitin are the private houses. The State and City turned over all state and city owned property to develope all the way down to Battlefield park when Haley Barbour was in his first term.


As you can see, the stadium will be located "directly across the street" from the fire station at Terry road and Lynch.

Frat, any plans for the Metro Center. I always thought that would be a good spot for JSU to own as well. I guess they are trying to do other stuff with that location. The city that is.
 



Here is my issue and maybe its already been stated. HBCU's cant even get enough funds to operate in the black... Where in the hell is JSU gonna find 125 million dollars... Hope and pray is not an answer... Also It may take 150 million tops to build a smal scale stadium as such.. The other 50 million is about to line somebody's pocket..

The City of jackson just moved a bunch of city offices to the old Dillards location in Metro.

The naming rights to an HBCU stadium are not gonna go for that much.. Maybe 20-35 million... Now here is where Im calling BS... These so called private funds.. Where are all these people now or in the past when you needed the funds... Thats jacked up... How much are those luxury boxes going for.. Who got that kinda money.. Lastly, the land that Memorial Stadium sits on may go for 20 million tops so at the end of the day JSU will still need to come up with 50 million dollars or so... If they do.. Then more power to them..

1st of all, the land that Memorial sits on was valued at over $110,000,000 back in 2006.

2nd.............. JSU don't even own the land Memorial sits on. JSU don't even own Memorial Stadium. The State of Mississippi owns both. The State..............NOT UMC or OLE MISS.

No matter how many times JSU peeps tell ya'll this, ya'll continue to post the same wrong info over and over. :lol:
