From the drawings we have seen it has a Georgia dome look to it...but will b used for multi purpose...

That was what I was talking about, not really the look. And making it a multi-purpose facilty was probably the only way they could probably justify building it.

This would be really GREAT if it materializes. I hope it happens and it looks like someone(s) really have their thinking cap(s) on.

"JSU has identified four possible sites for a location, Thomas said. The university owns about 60 percent of the land on one of the proposed sites, 80 percent on two of the sites and 100 percent of the land on one possible site."

.... hmm wonder where the two 80% sites are

 P, what's up with you and this retractable roof?

It puts y'all over the top, imho. Y'all add that removable roof and I'll rescind PV and eagerly join and support the Blue Bengal assoc. I come w/ matching corporate funds. :D I just got pulled into an offeratory at a local isd where the corps cut a 5K$ check for paint on a bldg that was just painted sum'2012 smh.

And how does JSU plan on getting this $200 million to have this dome built? You aren't going to get $200 million from the selling of Veterans Stadium. You might be able to get $75 million if UMC wants the land bad enough. That still leaves $125 million left. Let's say alumnae come up with $20 million (again, I'm aiming high), you still have $100 million left to come up with.
Do yall really think the good ol' boys in State of Mississippi legislature are going to approve give JSU $100 million for a domed stadium? Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss will raise so much hell that yall will be lucky to get $50 million from the state. And yall know they are not going to let JSU out shine the beloved Big 3.

It's ambitious and shows forward thinking, but JSU with a domed stadium...

If you've read any of the articles on this dome, you would see that JSU is only asking the state for $75M. That would at least suggest that the other $125M is taken care of.

This wasn't hatched last night. This baby been incubating for a minute. Now that the egg is cracked.......it's on!!!

Reading is Fundamental my brother....

And you really think JSU and Meyers would publicly release this info without having everything lined up? As tight lipped as they are no way...MSU and Ole Miss have both expanded their stadiums and do not need state bonds to do so, so why would they care about what JSU is doing...there is only one school that will b mad if as any and thats USM but theyve done expansion on there old stadium as well...

I look at this move as a dominating chess move..The state looks at JSU as the only HBCU and we are in a good spot..this move is setting up for what Meyers eventually wants to do and that is leave the SWAC this has been planned since Day 1
