Laugh all you want to but answer this. Has Hillary ever suggested that Obama be castrated like our ancestors were during slavery? That type of B.S. is worse coming from your own.

Hold on... just a few weeks ago folks were suggesting that Hillary would cause Obama to have to watch his back is he picked her as VP, mainly because of her comment about Bobby Kennedy's assasination.

You're right. One wants to assasinate him, the other wants to cut his nutts off. I guess it's pick your poison. :smh:

We criticize white folks for not putting Bush in check and backing him blindly, so why should Barack get a pass?

Who says that Obama should get a pass? Do you agree with Jessie? Do you honestly think Obama was talking down on black people? Anytime a black man speaks the truth to our community "we" get offended and claim to be getting talked down.....

Please make me aware of anytime Obama has talked down to black people.

I see somebody hasn't been reading the posts :ebrow:

Hmmmm....now let me see if I am understanding all of this:

If Jesse says something STUPID and gets caught, then it's the media's fault.
If he apologizes for his STUPID statement hours later, then he didn't really mean it the first or second time.
He maintains his relevancy if he says something STUPID so he can keep Obama in check.
Since he is still so relevant, he should never campaign for Obama in public so that it wont offend white folks.

OK...tell me what I am missing?

Jesse Jackson?s Comments : The Great Divide

A while ago, I was pondering Jesse Jackson?s comments about Barack Obama and the broad picture of the connotation that it entails. This whole situation reminds me of ?Guess Who?s Coming to Dinner?( 1967). In that movie Tillie (Isabel Sanford) said to John Wade Prentice (Sidney Poitier): ?Tillie: I don't care to see a member of my own race getting above himself.? This was in reference to Sidney?s character marrying a white woman. Later in that movie John Wade Prentice had a conversation with his father that summed up this rift between my generation and my grandfather?s generation. In that scene the younger man, Poitier, told his father that his generation was a dead weight on our people. Later explaining; John Wade Prentice: ?You think of yourself as a colored man. I think of myself as a man.?

As much as I have sucked at the teat of the freedom provided to our people by the civil rights generation I find myself feeling that they are becoming a dead weight on us. They can?t let go enough to see that the revelation is being televised, daily. Frankly, I think they resent us for going further than they were able to??.which is odd because they are the very ones that built the bridge with their own bodies and told us to walk across. From Rev. Wright to Jesse Jackson Sr., we have a generation of past their prime leader?s holding on to racial divides that (thanks to hip-hop) no longer exist on the same scale. I always thought Sidney Poitier?s comments were harsh. Now I fully appreciate the writing. Our generation has to fight the racist crackers and the crabs. Dayum!

Just a few thoughts on generational politics??????discuss among yourselves.
I have seen times when the older people were "dead wieghts". But they were so from a sincere heart and a mind molded by the white society. There is no excuse today...for our new 'older generation'.
There is no revolution today. We are in the harvest years of those who paid in past generations. There are no mountains to climb. There are hills and we are free to climb them. We refuse to climb them.
I also think that the LEADERS do resent you for going further than my generation. But only the leaders, not the people. The people are behind Obama, and your generation.
As a activest, I have no problems with Jessie MOST OF THE TIME.
The Duke thing is one I had a big problem with from the beginning.:smh:

As a politician, Jessie has alway's been a me and only me person as for who rep's black's on the national level.
That's why I wanted him and all those other fossel's to STFU when this campaign started.

Jessie show me just how locked into the "old day's" he still was the way he acted toward's Obama in this primary.
Him and other black's from that era has really embarrased themselves trying to hang onto the power they got when they saw Hillary was not going to make it to the nomination.

it was sickening to watch. :smh:
Jesse and others jump on issues that get national attention. They jump in with a 60's mentality. They are antiquated in thier thoughts and approach. We need a leader (none since King) who galvanizes, and eltruistically lead. We need a person who will DEMAND these last vestiges of racial hate, racism, and discrimination are removed. We have put the forrest fire out. Now there are just a few hot spots. It was easy to vocalize that we should vote, not use back doors, have schools etc. The challanges we face now are not as concrete and therefore harder to verbalize.

None of you aren't really old enough to know jack isht about what Jessie is about. All most of you know is what the media feeds you and that he father a child outside of his marriage.

Wow!! news flash, that's never happen to any leader in the world before. :emlaugh:

You youngster better wake the hell up and get off of your hollier than thou azzes, with ya'll bunch freaky deeky azz.
:lmao:

I ain't no youngster and these yougsters are right on target. Jackson's contribution to the our people is very small. He has always been about Jesse, from running around with MLK's blood on him and making false claims, to getting us excited by chants and rhymes, to being an adulterous PASTOR, to slinging racial slurs, jesse has always cared only for Jesse. His contributions have always resulted in financial gain and publicity for himself. His day has passed. He needs to shut up and sit down. I am no fan of Jesse or any other leader of todays BLACK organizations.
Hmmmm....now let me see if I am understanding all of this:

If Jesse says something STUPID and gets caught, then it's the media's fault.

Whites have acccepted his apologies because they respect and fear (in some form) because they THINK he is THE black leader. His catch phrases are good. 'It was an error of the head and not the heart'. The heck. You used a racial slur because that is the way you feel.
You screwed the woman because you could.
Jesse is hurt because the moment Obama becomes president (is elected) Jesse becomes irrelevant. Think about it who needs a jesse Jackson after that. Al is needed more than Jesse.
Jesse CAN NOT campaign for Obama from this day forth. Jesse just relegated himself to obscurity.

I don't recall you having any problem with Hillary when she did it. As a matter of fact, I recall you vehemently defending her right to say it.

So why you hating on Jesse?

Hmm...

Hidden, Hidden

rascism, rascism

Ok I stop reading right there.

Blu,

What I have been trying to explain to yall is that Hillary is a POLITICIAN just like Obama. All POLITICIANS mispeak and get their facts twisted and will say things and change positions to get elected. I don't have a problem with that. I am smart enough to sift through the bs. Some do it less than others. I will concede that.

Obama needs Hillary's support more than Jessie's. That's why in this election cycle, Jesse is irrelevant.

Besides, I always said that I would support the Democratic nominee (black or white)............talk about "hidden racism".....ha!

Dude you know I'm just pushing you, but some others....

My point still stands, that's not the position you took when Hillary did the same thing and worse, you defended her.

As for as him needing Hillarys support, that's another lie that being told. He jump out to double digit leads before she even hit the trail (if you can call what she done so far hitting the trail) and he's the one helping her pay off her dept.

Like McEnroe would say, "YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!!"

What did I need to defend Hillary for? That was Hillary being Hillary. I had a problem with folks callin her (bitch and Ho) in a forum setup for an intelligent round table discussion of issues, not the smackboard. And all this stuff about running black candidates out of office for supporting Hillary. Some of them marched along side with Jesse back in the day also. Why didn't you defend them like you pretend to be doing for Jesse?

C'mon Blu you know that Obama has no shot at winning without Hillary's support or if you prefer, "her supporters".
The polls are showing a close encounter in November.
And since we both know so much about the "HIDDEN VOTE", you never know what white folks will do on election day or what our folks will do if it rains.

Let's start a thread and discuss where the candidates stand on various issues. Do we really know what kind of president Obama or McCain will be? Or is anything better than BUSH?

JAGWAR IS BLU FRIEND (so i ain't gon copy and paste ya to death)

Well you and I both know all this rethoric and hate on Jessie (mostly by youngsters) has more to do with them being brainwash into feeling that way by the media, the same media that doesn't se fit to hold his counterparts to the same standards, and even though most know this they still fall for the same old okie doke day in and day out.

My faith is in GOD, not whit folks, and before some knucklehead misinterpret that, I'm simply saying..."I AIN'T WORRIED"

You already know the answer to that, and I've posted my feelings about it enough times.

Bottom line Blu:

We both want Obama to win in November......PERIOD!
It doesn't matter about Jesse.....HE IS A GROWN AZZ MAN!

I see ya'll had fun with this in my absence. You'll have to excuse me, I was just pissed when I wrote it. I still feel the resentment from the old heads and Jesse was dead wrong! No way around it, no way over it, no way to interpret it to show him in a more angelic light. If you like Jesse, great....but that's no excuse to pretend that what he said wasn't malicious. It was!

My biggest problem with it was the way he said it (whispering like a runaway slave on Fox), and the hand gesture that went along with it. Clearly he has a little complex where Obama is concerned(especially since he wants to cut off nads). That's personal and should have been left personal......in other words don't try to make it seem like Obama has offended "our people" because you have a chip on your shoulder, Jesse. Also, has anyone forgotten that he has the initials REV. before his name. How does it look for a revered to act that way???? Hey Jesse, what would Jesus do???

This thing about personal responsibility is something that should appeal to anyone who cares about our community. Jesse seems offended by that....what would he rather Obama say, "Please wait for government to cure all your problems!". It's that kind of ignorant thinking that got some of us in this mess to begin with.........still waiting on 40 acres and a dayum mule!?!?! C'mon, we're better than that.

BTW,
There is a revolution going on....turn on CNN.
Racial boundries that we've divided ourselves with since plymouth rock are dissolving.
I'm not saying they'll ever dissappear but they are dissolving. It's all MLK-like out there.
Don't you feel it?

Bill O'riely just reported that Jesse said more than was reported. He used the "N" word.

Well we all know if Bill O'Reily said it, it must be true.
Of course you know that the initial incident happened on his show.
He said that some of his people leaked it to the internet. He wanted to confirm it rather than deal with all the questions about is it true. He also said that his basic story was out there in the part he reported (leader downs other leader). He did not want to report the rest because it only served to hurt Jesse.

y'all are wild...this election has really brought out the ugly side of folks, including you TSPN posters. :lmao:

Very interesting thread and comments...thanks for starting, Stormy.

Riiight... and he really wouldn't want to do that.
