JAIL?

They receive very goog medical/mental health treatment.

CD I have to agree with that last statement. Although they live in close quarters, they receive good health and mental care. I know people working jobs and can hardly pay for their insurance. As far as food they are eating real good. I see why Burl Cain loves his job as Warden of Angola.

Umm can they walk the streets like you and me? Play with their kids? Attend football games? Tailgate? Sleep in on the weekend? Enjoy a rib-eye steak cooked on the grill? Sex with a woman?

Having 3 squares and good medical does not mean then have it better then any of us posting on this board.

They can walk to the fields. If they wanted to play with their kids they shouldn't be in jail in the first place. Only the football games they play on the yard. I guess the booty boys can tailgate. Don't know about sleeping in. The inmates at Angola have steak, chicken, and seafood since they raise and grom their own food. The women at LWCI in St.Gabriel are allowed to when they have weekend vistis from their man or woman.

I understand where you're coming from, but most of them enjoy the prison life just receiving those 3 squares and good medical benefits. Many of the Wardens have even said the repeat offenders have expressed their joy at being locked again because they couldn't handle the adjustment back to FREE life. My main concern is that way too much of the State General Fund dollars are spent on these prisoners.

LAWD no you didn't. To answer the question I haven't been to jail but I've been in handcuffs. I've spoken to a couple of folks who said jail isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. That you actually have more freedom than people think you do and not everyone ends up being someone's toy.

Made me laugh when you said "sex" with a woman. I heard some go in a different direction when incarcerated.

Funny you asked this question. Since the Louisiana Dept of Corrections is one of our budget entities, we just went on some agency visits to a few of the prisons with Angola being the highlight. I've never been to jail and after seeing how those prisoners are living, less just say I'm still scared straight. After seeing death row they don't have to ever worry about me stealing or killing anything not even a roach. They let one of the inmates(the dude with missing front teeth, tattoos, scars everywhere) in the Project Impact program talk to us and I'm guessing ole dude thought we were the pardon board because he kept trying to convince us he was a changed man. But I must say the food the prisoners eat did look pretty good.

did you see Mystikal?

o, and naw I ain't never been in jail.:smoke:

Well for my cuz to tell me the water ate her skin up and the crap she encountered while being locked up- I would say it's more than bad. I can't take that type of treatment.:dead:

I was always told never say never. Just pray you don't get caught up. The craziest things in life can catch you slipping and you will be taking that funny looking photo with numbers at the bottom.:scared:

He still living?:scared:

Yeah that fool on death row looking like the Texas Chainsaw dude awaiting his next trial. I think he's been convited of two of the murders and is appealing both of them. We will be taking care of this dude for some time to come.

Never been in jail but went to visit my uncle back in the late 80's. Haven't been back since because my Aunt got into with one of the guards as she was caught trying to give my uncle a pack of cigarettes and a dayum bag of peanuts out of her boots she was wearing and hid them in. It was a visit I will never forget.
