Football Scoop does a pretty good job of getting it right the 1st time around.

It sounds like a safe hire.

Too safe if you ask me!

Tiger 1, you don't understand.......This is MIGHTY JSU...........They were expecting Jenkins, Nix, Hughes, Saban etc........Not a guy who last coached for the Hartford Colonials and Sacramento Mountain Lions........Tiger 1, you must be an outside agitator trying to destroy the good name of Mighty JSU..............This can not be true...........NO......not Mighty JSU!

JSU's pay can't be attractive. They definitely have the fan base and support, something aint right.

I'm thinking that JSU may be looking for a administrator to handle some of the internal issues surrounding the program (football)

He will be the HC but he probably has some strong connections/networks and will probably be able to bring in some good assistant coaches.

yeah he making this up or footballscoop just bored and wanted to throw a name out there.....

I thought for sure Brian Jenkins the best coach in BCF right now was coming to Jackson

Naw, we just need a strong JSU team year in and year out to help our SOS and OOC wins.

another reason I think this is bologna is because it was a few posters from JSU saying that this hire would shock the world and they were hiring a Big name ....

Harold Jackson aint no Big name ....that's why I think this is a joke

They did shock the world though.:emlaugh:

jSU folks should come in here and tell these fools that at least they can no longer say y'all don't have a coach.

Now they could have gone and got Willie Simmons @ Alcorn which would have brought a lot of energy and excitement back to that football program.

He has a excellent mind on the offensive side of the football and had Middle TN running up the score on folks until he had a little hiccup.

The guy knows his X's & 0's

or how about

Mike Haywood;

Barbed wire behind him, Mike Haywood dreams of coaching again

MOBILE, Alabama - Mike Haywood knows he's ready to return to coaching college football. So ready, he's dreaming about it.

It's not the first time.

"I've been having a re-occurring dream," said Haywood on Monday night before addressing the New Horizons Credit Union 1st and 10 Club at Heron Lakes Country Club.

It's not a sexy pick but maybe it will work out for JSU.

I think a lot of times schools may overreact and go to far to the extreme of replacing the previous guy with a polar opposite individual.

I wonder who made the call on this hire?

2014 SHC!!!

Ha! :swink:

i'm not one that thinks schools need to necessarily strive for the big name, as they usually underachieve. kinda like Gruden right now. all of the sudden he's the second coming of Lombardi, when he's really just an above average coach.

dude yall are considering has a real nice resume, it's just his age that has me wondering.

Agreed!

I like the resume as well. I still think it was a safe hire.

Is he going to have the passion, fire, & energy to go out there and sell JSU football?

If true, talk about uninspiring. Dude is damn near 70. How long is he realistically gonna be there?

Figured ya'll were going for someone younger to bring some more energy to the program.

Resume is nice though.

Exactly! Jackson should be retired and drawing Social Security. Myers is damn near 70 also, I guess Jackson will be in good company with the "old lady". Someone please pass the Geritol.

So mighty JSU found mastula (sp) bastard son to be their coach?

I would have been hush about that too.

On a serious note, the real question should be this:

Is Harold Jackson merely "temporary" until Meyers can hire her good friend Johnnie Cole in 2015?
