Jackson State at Tulane in 2013?

I am not sure who brought it up but this is a forum where people exchange perspectives. I hope that answers your question. Again, Louisiana generates 3 times the revenue as Mississippi does.

It's really sad to say that most people only think of Mississippi as being that State that had a violent history during the Civil Rights Movement. I remember when I lived in Virginia, I told a co-worker/Deputy City Manager that I was driving to Louisiana for Thanksgiving and the Bayou Classic. He asked could he ride along and I told him yes. At first this dude was really excited about going to the classic, but once he realized that I would be traveling through Mississippi, he quickly changed his mind about going. By that time, all I could do was laugh, because there was no way I could change his mind about traveling through Mississippi. I even told him that Mississippi had more Black people per capita than any State in the country.

All this damn bragging about what Louisiana got and what Mississippi doesn't don't mean jack when you ain't getting a piece of the pie.

With ALLLL this money you guys claim Louisiana has, Jindal ain't giving you a damn dime of it. He continues to threaten to make cuts to your schools on a yearly basis, and does, yet you guys are on here bragging about what Louisiana has. Don't that beat all?
You guys ain't getting none of it, so your bragging is nothing more than white noise.:smh:

If you can ride through southern Virginia and east Tennessee and north Alabama that should qualify you to be able to ride anywhere in the South. I stopped at a truck stop somewhere off 81 once and there was nothing but Confederate stuff in their for sale. I hung out in Pigeon Forge, TN a few times and they got whole stores just for confederate stuff.

I know right, because I've seen worse in other States, but somehow people see Mississippi as being the most racist State.

Because of movies like Mississippi Burning and what happened at Ole Miss and Jackson State back in the '60's and '70's..

People just hate Mississippi period, but I love my state. I have nothing against Louisiana or Alabama but if you bring Mississippi up around people from them two states they seem to lose all train of thought. People love to look down on Mississippi like their state aint just like that. I just smh and lol...

I don't think anyone hates Mississippi. What I do think is you all are overly sensitive because Mississippi has been beat down so much and for so long. Personally, I like the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have driven there from Eastern New Orleans many times. Those people on that coast can cook! The numbers and rankings "are what they are though."

Most of the people that really have something to say about Mississippi be from Alabama and Louisiana. You stated that LA makes 3 times as much money as the state as Mississippi which is true. Who is seeing that money though? Certainly not the people who could use it and that is why LA and BAMA really don't have room to talk because we're all in the same boat. I know you want to separate yourselves from everything bad which is a natural instinct but downing MS because LA may be a little bit better is not saying much. Everybody thats not from the south looks at all southern states and say we all country and racist. It pisses me off when someone from LA or BAMA says that like their shit don't stank. That is what really pisses me off...

Basically. Its like they are bragging that the rich hoard the money and neglect the state. Pure stupidity.

Typed this game in google to find out more information and this thread was on the front page of it. Wow. It's crazy what people turn threads into. I guess that's why I don't have many post. LOL.

Anyway, good luck to the Tigers of Jackson State. I like this match up for Jackson. As I read on another page, Tulane is no Mississippi State.

Turns out my source was correct. This is not a bad way for JSU to start the 2013 season off. Tulane is a very young team who has only won 4 games in the past 2 years. They will be a improved team this season, but they will still be very young. I expect a good crowd at this one. Bandheads will come out to see the boom, and Tulane fans will come out to see new QB Nick Montana and the Green Wave's highest ranked recruting class ever. Also, this will be Tulane's last season in the dome and first home opening game since 41K showed up for the Southern game in 2002. This should be fun to watch. I will be there pulling for JSU to pull off a SWAC vs FBS upset. PVAMU came close in 2009 when they lost 21-18 to New Mexcio State and UAPB in 2007 when they also lost to New Mexcio State by a last second field goal. As some of you know, i am a big fan of FCS vs FBS upsets and continue to wait for our SWAC programs to pull one off.

With ya'll band in town, I am pretty sure the city will throw together soom kind of battle of the bands that Friday before the game or just pay the boom to perform somewhere.

Show you how backwards and stuck in the past most living in other regions are. Then they want to tell you how "well traveled and forward thinking" they are over blacks in the South. They honestly think Mississippi is sill doing the stuff you see on a "Mississippi Burning" movie.

Thats why I laugh when a black from any state start talking like their rednecks are different from rednecks here. Mofo's in New York have to deal with police rolling up on them for no other reason than they black to be frisked and searched. Mofo's honestly think they have "arrived" based on the state they live in but those same black mofos will be the first ones taking back roads or out of the way routes just so they don't drive through the wrong ethnic neighborhood rd in their states.

This converstaion went from JSU vs Tulane to Mississippi not being this to not being that and it chokes me up. I have been to every school in the conference following my beloved Golden Lions and I must say some of you guys are living in a fairy tail. OK Alabamaians lol have you heard of Gordo on 82 that entire stretch from the Mississippi state line up untill you reach Tuscaloosa is a complete mess when it comes to racism omg and if not for A State being in Montgomery it would not be what it is now. Louisiana once you past I 20 going away from BR and NO what do you have on the other side of Monroe a mess thats what Tenneesse come on now Nashville in its self tells the story. Ok now I'm not saying by far that Mississippi is the best but one better believe its not what you have been taught to believe.

I live in the Mississippi Delta where it was once a fool but things are turning around slowly, I know because I'm still here the one thing that completly holds this state back is the lack of jobs. They will tell you its the work force but thats not true its jobs where there are no jobs there will be problems and we have those. Take Cleveland MS for example two high schools but they are seperated by the old railroad track, one is all black ESH and the other is 50/50 CHS now this town has lost jobs because of the two high schools and the population is only 16,000 or so give or take. There is a full service university here Delta State with three other school withing 40 miles Valley, MDCC, CCC and what happens when a degree is recieved that 40% of the individuals get on down and go somewhere else because there are no jobs and the pay is not the best of the 50 states especially in the education field. But is that to say the people are non educated, lazy, etc negative all states have there down falls and if not for certain cities in those states most of them would be Mississippi if not worst My state just catch hell from top to bottom and yet still we cant keep you guys out of it or off your minds.

LOL @ Cee. Not to mention I heard some news program say most Americans never move or travel more than 20 miles from where they were raised. Americans are the least traveled folks in the world.
