Quite the opposite. She was very hands on this time. She was not involved at all the last time. She pretty much took the bull by the horns herself in what was probably the first athletic hire of her life. The last time, she just took the committee recommendation, gave them the side eye, and went with it... She fired OMJ too. It was totally her call. She is tired of losing.

Peabody's basketball goes back further back than that. They won their first State Championship back in 1979 with Paul Thompson, Nap Johnson, and Russell Jones. Although Paul and Nap had more success after high school, most people from Alexandria, LA would tell you Russell Jones was the most talented player on that 1979 team. Also, Peabody were the State runner-ups several years before and after 1979. We were 3A State runner-ups my senior year. You will have to go back 40 some years to see the complete success of Peabody's basketball program in Louisiana..
 
I'm surprised he would accept $265K or even be offered $265K. ..but of course that's not verified. It may be loaded with incentives if he accepted it.

I didn't know Texas Southern had A&M in their name. In that case, Valley and UAPB is on y'all radar. I guess you have to concentrate on them first before you can think about anyone else.
 



Like I said, no teams named A&M. Hell, we bout to go FBS. First we get our indoor practice field, then we get our Dome. Then FBS move, so we have no time to be fooling around with you small time A&M schools. All nine of you.

Dude, we would run that conference. Geographically, Tenn St will never win that conference, but us, we will dominate it. Like we're about to dominate this one for the last few years we will be in this conference.

Don't get cocky with it know, it's not even 2016 yet. It's kinda early to be bragging and saying that we're going to be them and not worrying about them. Let's be Humble becaus y'all did the same thing in 2013 when Harold was hired and look where we were with that

Congratulations to Jackson State on their new hire! I don't know much about the new coach but Lord knows I know all too much having one in place that leaves you more frustrated & disappointed than excited.

Hope this works out well for JState!:)
