MSU got some strong recruits in North Louisiana in recent years, which used to be all LSU. I wonder how this will impact them in North Louisiana. Even USM got a good recruit from my old high school in Central Louisiana, which normally would have gone to SU or some mid major FBS school in Louisiana.

This kid here from my old high school was initially recruited by BYU, but he got hurt his senior year in high school and ended up at USM.

Peabody or ASH?

JSU gonna' put that payback down on everybody lol.

Waiting to see what type of staff he's gonna put together. He will be holding over 2 coaches from the previous staff. I just need it CONFIRMED that Chang is gone. I need to see it with my own eyes lol.

That young man is from Peabody, which is why I said he would have most likely attended SU or some mid major in Louisiana. He's also a member of my church back home and I see he pledged Que from the video below. I'm sure EX (Epsilon Chi Chapter) bruhz in Alexandria, LA probably influenced this young man since most of them are members of my old church along with one of Peabody's former coaches (Coach Baker) who's also a Que and who's nephew is on SU Board. ASH players were getting pick up by the likes of the University of Oklahoma, until LSU put a stop to that. IMO, Peabody always had talent. It was our coaching that was suspect. Fred Bailey who is also a Que came from Peabody. Also, UAPB and Alcorn have gotten some good talent from Peabody and I believe the ones at UAPB pledged Que. Coach Odums should communicate with the Ques in Alexandria to find out which players in that area, particularly from Peabody has raw talent.

Dude from UAPB went to ASH I think. Last name Beverly.

Yes, you are right, but Emmanuel Arceneaux from Alcorn came from Peabody. Actually, UAPB had gotten two from ASH. And now that it is basketball, Peabody is ranked 24th in nation and they just defeated the 14th rank school. I wonder which SEC school (LSU or Alabama) would be recruiting kids from there. I know one kid has already accepted LSU. I'm sure Scotlandville is in the same position between LSU and Alabama. In the past, these traditionally Black high schools were overlooked by your big schools, which is how HBCUs would most of the time end up with some pretty good talent.

Congrats JSU on your new coach. On paper he looks a lot better then harOLD Jackson. However, nothing has changed.

Please. We will beat y'all in our sleep this year.

Blackbengal,

You know how you feel when someone from MVSU talks smack to you. :D
That is how I feel when you or tigerpride or anyone else from the Mafia say your going to win next season.
Our Bar is set higher then yours. :D

Great hire JSU, but don't expect any miracles overnight. I'm sure this coach has his work cut out for him, after two years of OMJ.

Hughes is taking a pay cut because he really wanted the JSU job. For him it is not about the money. He sees the potential and required that facilities be upgraded which the administration as well as the Athletic Support Organizations agreed too. he is a lifelong Mississippian who understands the Pride and tradition of the JSU program.

I think it's a good hire. The SWAC is getting increasingly better. Having a rejuvenated Jackson State would be another step in that improvement.

Saw yall on Cox 4 last night. I think that was replay of the Friday game against Washington Marion. Peabody has been good on that hardwood for over 25 years. Hopefully Peabody can send some of that talent on the hardwood to SU(or even Alabama)
