Is Mitch Landreiu Really White?

I know this is dumb and this has absolutely nothing to do with nothing, but I was watching the NO Mayoral debate on MSNBC and I can't help but see "black" features in Landreiu (sp?). Am I just seeing things? Can anyone else see it?

Then again, it could just be too much coffee.

Its funny you asked LaMonte! While I do not admit to know Mitch Landrieu's geneaology, I would suggest that being from Louisiana, you're bound to have some of anything and everything in "your blood"...We're home of Creoles, quadroons, mulatto and passe' blanc folks..."

Considering the rich culture of the city and how much of a melting pot New Orleans really was in the 1800's and even today in the 2000's....He might have a lil "black blood" as they say...

Hey you ever notice how jennifer ainston (sp?),
you know that white girl from friends,
looks just like that black girl on Soul Food

don't you think so??

Is he white or black?

As a child, I thought Ernest "Dutch" Morial was a white man who liked black people. :D

http://www.frenchcreoles.com/CreoleCulture/famouscreoles/ernest morial/ernest morial.htm

He is the first "Black" to graduate from LSU's Law School.
First Black appointed US Attorney for the state of Louisiana.
Yet the website above says he is Creole..."mixture of black/white/spanish/indian/whatever combination wasn't plain white and plain black..."

Peopled loved Dutch!

Southern keeblers back in the day said if you had a drop of Negroid blood coursing through your veins, your azz was COLORED.

Ergo, Dutch was COLORED/NEGRO/BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN/WTFEVA you wanna call him.

I guess I'm "colored" then :)

Don't know Souther keeblers....but either way, when I was I kid I said he was a white man. :D :lmao:

Got any colored pics. One of the oldest tricks in the book for folk passing as white is to take black and white photos.

Please point out the "black" features.

LOL @ J4J, but I was thinking the exact same thing. Is ANYBODY that's passing for white down there REALLY white?

Like robber said...get thee a b&w photo. You'd be suprised at what can be revealed by NOT having color in a picture. Think about some of the old b&w pics your parents and grandparents have shown you. Also, think about those beautiful old b&w movies from the 30's, 40's and 50's.

Cat Daddy...if I post my picture I would ask you to point out my native American features. Yet, If I start posting pictures of my mother, her father, and his parents you will notice a key factor. The skin tone as it turns slower and slower red...i.e. Native American.

...like my paternal grandmother. The skin tone and sharp features told her ancestry. She was 103 when she died in 2000.

Exactly. If I married a white and had a kid, then that kid married a white, what color or how would my grandchild look? And let's not wonder if my grandchild married a white person how their child would look.

Knowing my ancestry VERY WELL...I can only imagine what Mitch's family heritage is...knowing some background...lol...some of you may be surprised.

People have posted that Mitch looks like he has black features. PLEASE point them out.

Bruh I never posted it...I just so happen to know some insides.

Well spill it...

Oh and I don't buy that 1 drop of black blood stuff. Many of us can find a white man somewhere in our tree. Does that make us white?

I'm not posting family business but believe me he got some chocolate in him. I agree with you Cat I don't buy that one drop stuff either. I believe that if you are mixed, say one parent is white and one is black, it's the heritage that you practice to decide your race. Most times it's that of your mother if you are in a single parent household. For example look at many of the mixed Hispanic people, most of them follow their Hispanic culture, and define themselves as Latino....(Sorry Hassan I heard there was a difference in Hispanic and Latino but I'm a bit ignorant on the two so if I offended you then my apologies.)

My former boss was married to white woman and had 2 daughters. One went to Howard and stated she was black, the other Virginia Tech, and stated on school records that she was white.

That may be true. However, Dutch Morial associated with black or "creole" and his son Marc Morial was definitely "black"...

Although, the website I listed states he was "creole". I guess it depends on who is looking. I don't think he cared, but he could not change that hair. I don't think he tried to pass because he had no control over NONE of the black and white pictures taken of him. They were for the newspaper and such.

DSN: If you could only see my great grandmother on my mother's side....

If you could see my great grandparents....

I think many times people question others ehtnic background because they clearly don't know theirs...so they assume they are 100%
