Name me 1 other conference in AMERICA, ANY DIVISION, that don't release figures like these besides the SWAC.

You are very bent on someone on this board getting answers for you. First, you want to know the business plan on how UAPB got their stadium funded. Since it wasn't supplied to you, then UAPB didn't get its funds privately in your eyes.

Now you want someone to provide YOU on how the money is spent, collected, shared from this game from the SAME people on this board, YET you do no work to find it yourself. The information could be PUBLIC, yet not on the internet. SO CALL your president, your AD, or CALL OR GO BY OR EMAIL THE SWAC OFFICE for the information. Do some work ON YOUR OWN and stop being LAZY and asking members of the SWAC page to get info for you.

Okay, the Bayou Classic has Coca-Cola and that's it of who he listed. If the Bayou Classic (the supposed Grandaddy of ALL HBCU Classics) can't even pull in these MAJOR sponsors what makes him/you expect the SCG will?

Stagg what do you want the SWAC office to do? E-mail every single person with SWAC ties this information... I guess they gotta guess what everyones email addy is a well. They put it out there, but it's not their fault if you don't look/ask for it. Do you want to know who does have that information? Your school's athletic department, your conferences HQ, and most likely another source of public domain. How do you get this information? Ask them.

I just got through looking at the sponsors for the bayou classic and I'm scratching my head at what this guy said when it comes to the lack of the classic's "major" sponsors...I'm only from Houston, Texas so I don't know anything and Huntsville is a metropolis of a city from what I observed so.......

Coors Light isn't "Major" - do you understand how much the beer industry nets?

Kellogs isn't major? Do you eat cereal?

SW Airlines? The nation's most profitable airline isn't "major?"

The marines, ebony magazine, AARP, NBC (NATIONAL TELEVISION), etc....damn....those aren't major also...:rolleyes:

McDonald's sponsors the Battle of the Bands...etc....

Some SWAC Championship Sponsors
Russel Athletic? Are they not "major"?

State Farm Insurance? Are they not "major"?

NAVY? The nations' first and best lines of defense isn't "major"?

ESPN? Also national television owned by DISNEY, isn't "major"?

Alabama Power? An F'n ENERGY COMPANY isn't "major"? Do you know how much money energy companies rake in annually?

Last year one of the auto maker companies was a sponsor as well. Ford or GMC, one of them.

The SCG is not the Bayou Classic, but it has major sponsors. If you are expecting it have sponsors on the level of the BC as of now then you are nuts. And tbf, I never said those sponsors on the BC list weren't "major" sponsors. I simply pointed out to JR, Beans, SLT, and now you, that the "major sponsors" that JR referred to weren't even signed up sponsors for the Bayou Classic except Coke.:xeye: Still scratching your head?



Stagg, look it up for yourself. Why do you expect me to do your research for you? Contact your AD, because every school gets a cut of the profits made by the SCG. I don't know the numbers, but I know some of how it is handled.

Secondly, it's called a press release. Now I have never had to ask the SEC commisioner about money because it has always been plastered over the TV and print. They release the payouts from their bowl revenue and championship game for the public to know. So I don't have to go to UGA's or MSU's president to ask them. Now perhaps if I wanted line item numbers then possibly I would have to get that from them.

I think we all recognize that the SWAC is sitting on a gold mine and they refuse to tap into it. The SWAC sports weekends should be a celebration, a homecoming of sorts for all SWAC alumni. Like Robber said the game should be the least important event because the two teams have played already. That's the one game that should be social event. We should be having BOTBs, stepshows, concerts, cheerleading contests, banquets in addition the the HOF sports banquet and other stuff. Same with Bball in the spring. Each school should be required to sell tickets and support. But I ain't going into all this now, already have.
