IF Low-Resource Nichols State.......

I'll give you a pure clear cut example.

The Levi kid that went to Scotlandville, BR ppl know this kid. Talented kid.

He's excelling at ULL at the QB position or wherever he went. By the time he's a JR, it's lights out. He'll be running that conference.

Now let's do this

IF that kid goes to SU, Would he be running the SWAC?? Tearing the SWAC up like he will do at ULL, at ULL he's gonna put up huge numbers and basically be unstoppable but IMO at SU, he wouldn't be as great. He'll be a good QB, but I don't think he'll be breaking records at SU, just because those coaches can't coach that type of talent.

At ULL he would be a better player than he would be at SU.

So the question is, WHY IS THAT??

Man, I hear you on the name of the school and the significance of that name of the school, but the reality is if you haven't been taught or influenced by some adult to take a deeper look, you have this........

The sad thing, a great deal of those kids don't make it to the next level and some end up back in their communities with no degree, no job, and in trouble with the law. But we have to do a better job convincing our kids from birth that predominately White doesn't mean better and if they kept up with these melanin conferences, they would see it is the other way around.

You have to coach and teach talent, for those who are saying talent matters.

Our coaches can't coach talent to beat teams like that.

Levy isn’t even starting yet. He would be great at SU.

Why isn't he starting? Doesn't he have an upperclassmen ahead of him??

Wasn't he an FR last year?

Dude would be average at best. His hype will be more over-shadowing than his play on the field. If that's the case, Shorts would have been killing the SWAC, dude was the MVP in his district coming outta of LAB, and had the better hype, play than Levi coming out of HS and Odums couldn't coach the kid up. Luckily Austin was able to come through

Shorts was nowhere near the passer Levi is. And Levi hasn't put up huge numbers yet but he was good as a freshman.

Levi wasn't a helluva passer in HS. Dude was the same player as Shorts but smaller, hell I would say Shorts was a better passer but that's not saying much. Levi was a RB playing QB

I agree. I just don't think our size is the issue. It's talent. We have size across the board in the trenches. NCA&T starts 3 offensive linemen under 300lbs.

They mentioned this on the ESPN broadcast when they played JSU about how they thought the undersized A&T DL would get worn out by the big JSU line and it didn't happen. The Celebration Bowl should have shown that

Those undersized DL fit their scheme perfectly

Louisiana has other FCS programs (McNeese and Southeastern) that have done what Nicholls is doing now. It always seems like every year one of Louisiana's Southland Conference schools play above their expectations. Northwestern State has yet to join that group, but I'm pretty sure they will one day. McNeese had been a solid program for awhile, they are now getting challenged by other Southland Conference schools. Southeastern was somewhat a surprise after not having a football program for years. Being that they are in New Orleans, UNO could probably have a pretty good program, if they had a football team. A lot of the kids at Nicholls are from the New Orleans area, which is a surprise to me now after the Confederate monument crisis. But I'm sure a lot of those kids were sold on the colder ice theory.

And if that day happens to be this Saturday in Natchitoches, I swear on a six-pack of Smirnoff Ice I'm beating someone's ass. (LOL)

GoFundMe page to bail Kenn out of jail------------------------> :(

Seriously, I think GSU needs to watch out for Eppler out of navasota HS. He was an all-state record setter for them and love(d/s) to sling it everywhere.

Especially at a school named after a Confederate General (Francis T. Nicholls) and whose mascot is a Confederate Colonel. After all the protest over removing Confederate monuments, which started in New Orleans, it would seem like most Black kids would be reluctant to go there. If I was a kid being recruited by different schools, the school's name would be the first thing I look at and what is its meaning to the school. It says a lot about the historic philosophy of the school.

Same can be said for sam houston state and stephen austin university student-athletes. But I have to be careful because a lot of my relative dna attended those schools, even in the turbulent latter 1960s smh :( .

"RECRUITING!!!!! PERIOD!!!! SWAC schools need to go to Wisconsin and get some big ass cornbread ass fed offensive lineman and get some non-weed smoking defensive players and some not wanting the spotlight all the damn time running backs and quarterbacks. Throw in some new coaches who want to win rather than experimenting until the conference schedule. Also get some ADs who want to work but not all in front of the camera."

Why we gotta go to Wisconsin? Did Nicholls/McNeese/NCA&Tdo that?

You need to look at his tape again. Levy has a strong arm and is really accurate. His ball placemenf is excellent. The only knock on him was his height.

Just looked it up @Bewildered

Georgia went 8-5 in 2016. They were up by double digits in the fourth before allowing two late scores by Nicholls. Georgia was up and down that entire season. In short, GEORIGA WAS VULNERABLE THAT SEASON. Oh yeah, that was Kirby Smart's second game as Georgia's head coach, and as a head coach, PERIOD. Let Nicholls play Georiga now, they'll get mollywhopped.

A lot of it is coaching. Nicholls' head coach was a serious candidate for the ULL job if I remember correctly. While I think HBCU football coaching is improving I can only see about two HBCU head coaches getting a serious look at mid-major FBS schools.
