Some folks support the school and the program no matter who the personalities involved are.

It's easy to point fingers and place blame when your guy is not in the chair, but I believe a true fan is just that - a fan of the school no matter what.

The negativity is not constructive or productive. Either you're down for the team or you're not.

There are some camps who hold to the idea that if you give unwavering support to said entity no matter what, then you are not a true fan at all. There are others, like yourself and others, who believe that if you criticize said entity for whatever reason that you are not a true fan.

I believe that a fan/supporter of a school/team can be critical and still be down. Fans (short for fanatics) routinely display irrational behavior and make irrational comments. That's why I have no problem with folks criticizing a school, coach or student-athlete (as long as it is not personal) because those fans have made an emotional and sometimes a financial investment in those entities.

And as result of that investment sometimes that relationship isn't always a smooth one because they want to see their team/school be successful. That's why I said in my first post that I can understand the fans side and I can understand Doug's side.

So Gramblinites don't need to hear about Steve Spurrier and nobody else. We're not impressed. We had the "Maestro". The man who took almost nothing and made something Great out of it.
